Some people need B12 injections because they don't process B12 normally .
One of my daughters has to have them .

They don't feel that much of a difference after the injections , but notice when the effect has worn off .

Supernana1 Look up The Pernicious Anaemia Society. There are on-line support groups with lots of tips and advice.

For many years I have "Self Injected" as 12 weekly is no use to me. I order my B12 from Amazon Germany, it costs pennies.

To put things in context, in some counties you can buy and injection at the Chemists for a very reasonable price, so why not here in the UK?

In the UK you can get B12 injections at Beauty Salons at whatever they want to charge. Near where I live the Salon currently charges £24 per injection.

Also in some countries there isn't the fight to get more frequent injections. When I worked abroad my Dr had me on 4 weekly injections, no fuss but back in the UK it was 12 weekly.

I've needed injections for 25 years +. During lockdown my Dr stopped my injections and wanted to put me on tablets. Ha Ha. Tablets don't work for lots of people, me included.

I don't have "Intrinsic Factor" or simply put the bridge between my gut and blood stream so tablets are of no use at all to me.

I hope you find some useful information and ways to help manage your situation as it's not easy.

I've a friend who swears by them. Her daughter does too.

I never thought of taking pills as well. I'll look into that. Thank you all - good to know I'm not the only one who feels no benefit.

I have them by monthly. I know when I need it.
My new Dr tried to change them to 3 monthly but I wasn’t having that 😄

I don't feel that I've been boosted when I have them, but I know when they are due, as my boost has gone. I'm due one now, and I'm not sleeping, keep forgetting words and have no energy. It's way beyond feeling tired.

I've been having the injections for 10 years and don't feel any energy boost after them. I've recently bought B12 pills and will take them when I'm feeling run down to top up.

I've been having b12 injections for about 7years...used to be every 12weeks...now every 10weeks but I also take vitamin b12 pills from Boots...because otherwise have no energy...

My Auntie had them and she said “so much for feeling like a new woman. I feel no different.”

My friend has to have them for the rest of her life following a gastric bypass op and she says they do nothing for her either.

Not me personally but both my Mum and my brother had them.

My Mum said that she didn't notice any difference but my brother said he knew when his next injection was due because he started to feel as if his batteries were running low and needed recharging. He always felt better after his injection.

I have been having B12 injections every three months for the past three years. The deficiency of Vitamin B12 showed up after a routine blood test. I have been suffering from severe tiredness for years.

Almost every time the nurse says 'there you go, that'll give you a boost'. But it doesn't. I never feel any better after the injection than I did before. Just as tired as ever.

Do any other posters have these injections and do you find they give you a boost of energy?
