Has anyone tried a weighted hula hoop?

As I begin my 400th weightloss campaign (great at losing weight, rubbish at maintaining) I'm wondering about getting one of these hoops where you hula a weight round you, and as you get slimmer you gradually take a link out of the hoop.

I wondered if a) anyone had had any success with one and b) how big the initial hoops are: I'm currently in my Henry VIII-thian phase (shorter than him but definitely girthsome); I'd hate to shell out for something that doesn't fit.

I know exercise alone doesn't lead to weightloss but every little helps.

Ta.

I bought a cheap version of this and just couldn't keep the momentum going despite watching videos. It went to the village Swap Shop. Hope someone enjoyed it.

Forgot to mention that they are available with different numbers of links with measurements given, so can fit all sizes.

I had one too. Used it once or twice then it collected dust in the garage.

I have one. I did 20-30 minutes a day, and managed to remove two links.

Then I had a bad arthritis flare-up and had to stop for about 8 weeks. I'm starting back on it again today.

I tried it on yesterday, and was pleased to not have to add a link back in smile

Sounds awful. I am supposed to do (normal) hoola hoop sometimes in my exercise class. I can't even get started.

Good luck everyone!

Last time I tried a hula hoop I couldn’t keep it up at all but used to do it for ages as a youngster. Why is that?
