Have you experienced good results using crystals for health.

Shelflife Tue 05-Sep-23 17:22:05

Definitely not !!

Hithere Tue 05-Sep-23 17:23:39

Even if it is placebo effect, it doesn't hurt

Shelflife Tue 05-Sep-23 18:47:43

I agree it can do no harm ,but I don't like to think people are relying on crystals for healing when they should be seeking medical help.

ParlorGames Tue 05-Sep-23 18:55:24

No

henetha Tue 05-Sep-23 21:16:35

No. Harmless probably, but no substitute for proper medical help.

Fleurpepper Tue 05-Sep-23 22:05:42

NO. I am a huge believer in some alternative therapies, like acupressure, acupuncture, some herbal medicines, yoga, Gi-gung and Tai-chi.

But crystals, NO. This is an ecological disaster, and total dangerous nonsense. How can people claim to love and respect Mother Earth, and accept the ecological destruction involved, using massive machinery, dynamite and slave labour, including children, is just unbelievable. All happy-clappy flower peace and love - and no thinking or caring, or respect.

Many articles around explaining this

I love crystals but absolutely no faith that they do anything other than be pretty
So another NO

icanhandthemback Thu 07-Sep-23 11:46:02

Nope, it is all mumbo jumbo to me. However, if it floats your boat, as long as you get medical advice for the symptoms of any problems, why not.

Not for health purposes. But some years ago I purchased an amethyst pendulum with the intention of hanging it in my window as an ornament. I read online that crystal pendulums were used to predict a 'yes' or 'no' answer to a question. I decided to try it, and was so spooked when it worked several times (I honestly did not shake my hand or direct the direction of the pendulum) that I put it away in a box and it remains there! I have no idea what happened - but something did.

Pretty… but voodoo stuff.

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 07-Sep-23 11:57:50

Hippy stuff.

I would have to know the scientific evidence before I would consider a treatment outside the medical ones. I can’t conceive of any rational explanation for ‘crystal healing’ and view it with great scepticism. If people believe it works, good for them; the placebo effect is well known and the mind is a powerful healing aid after all. BTW I should be a very healthy person if this is true! I have a varied collection of rocks and crystals picked up from mine dumps and beaches in Cornwall in my childhood there!

I glanced at the title and thought it was about crystal meth shock

grandtanteJE65 Thu 07-Sep-23 12:24:49

I have no faith in gemstones or the like as agents for healing, but I am sure it is like everything else that people believe in.

If you believe strongly enough, it may well have an effect, but do remember that there are no guarantees.

If it makes you better able to cope having crystals to hand, then it won't do any more harm than my prayers to God and the Virgin Mary on DH's behalf. They may not be answered in the form I would like (by him responding well to cancer treatment and living well for another number of years), but they do help me to stay moderately calm in this crisis.

If crystals help you, or a loved one, go ahead and use them as a supplement to whatever else is necessary to resolve the problem.

Put them together and it's a gateway to crystal meth!

Nice for jewellery - that’s all.

A friend of mine had ovarian cysts. She used a crystal and got rid of them.

Stillstanding Thu 07-Sep-23 14:16:29

I was given some crystals by a friend who wanted to help me because I am disabled. I accepted them because me and my friend were a pair of old hippies. My friend died a few years ago. The crystals are still where she positioned them so that they could exude their healing powers most effectively. I dont know about that but they are pretty and they remind me of the kindness of a friend. That makes me feel good so maybe they do heal a bit. Who knows?

Most ovarian cysts disappear naturally so I very much doubt that the crystals did anything.

Theexwife Thu 07-Sep-23 14:35:43

Probably works as well as praying, if you believe it may help you to feel calmer.

M0nica Thu 07-Sep-23 14:39:09

Springseternal What was the evidence tht it was the crystals that did the job, rather than coincidence or, as GSM says, the normal natural process.

Jodieb Thu 07-Sep-23 14:40:56

Pennywhistle. You can do the same thing with a needle and thread.

Yes!

Has anyone visited Glastonbury? There are lots of crystal etc shops there.

I have just a few which were bought in Australia and were mined in Australia by adults.
A couple sit by my computer, a couple by my bed.
They are there because they're pretty, not that I believe they are healing or stop bad vibes from the Wifi.

(Although you never know 😁)
