Most people who have varied diets don't need supplements though they can be useful as we get older.
Vit D is best from sunshine (not through window glass but greenhouse glass is fine). Supplement is probably no help unless you are very low - then go out in the sun a bit more.
Multivits with vit E can give too much vit E which in excess can lead to cancer.
