How did you get on Sally been thinking about you

I have them every couple of years, so I am something of an old hand.

The routine where I am is that a nurse checks your weight etc and then you are passed to the person doing the procedure to sign the consent form. I ask the nurse to put in the notes that I want the maximum sedation for my body, and that is what I am consenting to.

This is because once I was given far less, and was awake throughout. As I have a strong gag reflex it was very unpleasant. Now that I ask specifically I have had the right dose (last time it was three units (can’t remember what measurement they use) but the consultant promised that if I needed more she would give it.

With proper sedation you will be fine, Sallywally. It’s over quickly, and you will know nothing about it. Try not to worry.

Thanks. Yes I am booked for sedation. It is at 1.00.

Oh sedation all the way I have had it both ways and the sedation is the only way I d ever have it done in the future if needed

Have had several with and without sedation. It is not how one would choose to spend a Sunday but really it's OK! It will soon be over.

Definitely go for the sedation, it will make you more relaxed and therefore it will be easier for them. BUT you may need someone to stay with you, - preferably overnight in case you are affected by the sedative.

Good luck, it'll soon all be over

I had one in the summer without sedation. It wasn't too bad at all and I found the procedure fascinating!

Conscious sedation, make sure they give you enough.

I had one a few years ago.

Dreaded it, but honestly, it was ok.

Good luck.
