For the support, understanding and sharing of mental health issues.
All are welcome. We treat each other with kindness.

HVDY Glad you enjoyed your meal at daycentre and I hope your hip/groin pain doesn't return. Can't we get some strange aches n pains. My appt was sent within 2 week rule and was to be 28th so lucky I've now been changed to 20th.
Scaredycat I have to agree with Doodle in that you don't sound 'old'or 'older' in your posts at all. You must tell us your magic secret! Your DH is so lucky with his hair-made me smile about it filling a cushion! I'm relieved DH has his scan next week though wish it had been MRI instead of CT. His last one was MRI (when he had speech slurred).
Wyllow Was good of you to help Mel1967. I'm sad to hear you are still so poorly with your MH. I wish there was something I could say or do to help. Just protect yourself and nurture yourself the best way you know how to. Sending soft hugs.x

Sweetpeasue Thu 15-Feb-24 19:58:16

Nadateturbe I hope you and your husband have had a better day and you had better sleep last night. Thinking of you .x

Candy6 Thu 15-Feb-24 23:26:19

Hello all, I’ve just read all your posts and finally caught up. My usual “excuse” of being tired as to why I’ve not posted. I try to read most evenings but then usually too exhausted to post. I did think earlier in the week that I was feeling better, but then I’ve gone downhill. GS been here for 3 nights but gone home tonight so we’ve finally had an evening to ourselves. Both have a day off so not sure yet what we’ll do but there are some things we need to do, household stuff.
I can see a lot of you are struggling one way or another and I hope everything gets sorted. Sweetpeasue try not to worry about your appointment- they are obliged to see you quickly because of the new policy. I had to go for investigations last year for gynae issues but it’s policy and what they have to do. I’m sure everything will be ok for you. Sorry I can’t respond to everyone personally but sending you all lots of love ❤️ Xx

Wyllow3 Fri 16-Feb-24 00:05:39

Night night bests to all BD's.

HowVeryDareYou2 Fri 16-Feb-24 09:59:14

SweetpeaSue I can't seem to pinpoint where my pain is - I think it's the hip flexor. It certainly isn't my actual hip, nor my actual groin. It's painful already and I haven't been anywhere yet!

Candy6 Having grandchildren is tiring, isn't it? Especially for 3 nights. Hope you have a good day off, whatever you end up doing.

Going to meet my friend for lunch at the local garden centre (our usual place). Foxy came very early last night - 11.15, we were still up so saw him through the window. He had luncheon meat, a block of cheese, 2 eggs. He left the minced beef grin. Hop ALL BDers see a bit of sunshine today x

Sweetpeasue Fri 16-Feb-24 15:20:32

Candy6 You have such a busy full life it's understandable you get so tired. As you have said, you keep busy partly to prevent anxieties around your son's past serious health problems (hope that's right ,apologies if I've got that wrong). You must get exhausted and add on your days looking after DGS you must have overdone it. Hope your day off with DH you can do something nice just the two of you and housework stuff can be minimal-its never done is it? Thanks for supportive words. I understand the Gynae investigations. They are meant to be just that -you may understand that was all my Hysteroscopy was meant to be. You must be relieved everything is OK. Who'd be a woman eh? Take care of yourself and hope you enjoy your time off.
HVDY Wonder what this pain is you're having. Hope it goes as quickly as it came on. It's strange how we can get referred pain from somewhere different to where it actually is sometimes.
Have a nice meet up with friend. Your fox appears to be a permanent visitor now. He'll be eating his way through your food cupboards!

Got out for a coffee with DH this morning and on way back developed such bad pain in car. Pulled in to side and had all my meds. Got home and after an hr of sheer hell it subsided. Think I could cope better if there was something concrete to label it as. Know totally it's bladder.
* Nadateturbe* Hope you're feeling much better today.
Hope everyone is coping with their lot today.xx

HowVeryDareYou2 Fri 16-Feb-24 15:41:27

SweetpeaSue Friend and I had soup, a roll (they're known s cobs in Nottingham) and coffee. We talked nonstop for 3 hours grin. What a shame you had all that pain again. Hope it'll settled down a bit now.

Doodle Fri 16-Feb-24 22:19:54

Sorry all will be back to catch up tomorrow. DH wants to settle down to sleep and as he’s comfortable I’m going to turn the light off and let him rest.
Take care Wyllow and all sleep well. xx

Sweetpeasue Fri 16-Feb-24 22:41:25

Doodle Wishing you both a restful night🤞.
Wyllow Sending love and hope.

Goodnight all. X

nadateturbe Fri 16-Feb-24 23:28:37

Sorry I haven't been on. My typing arm isn't good, typing very slowly with right. Sorry about everyone's pains. Thinking about you all and sending love and prayers. Glad you got to church Doodle.
Don't know about MOT Sweetpeasue maybe part exchange for a new model! 😁
I'm sure my arm will be better tomorrow.
Goodnight, may it be a peaceful one.xx

Wyllow3 Sat 17-Feb-24 00:00:59

Night night all, sending wishes back xx

Candy6 Sat 17-Feb-24 00:25:54

Hi all
Late visit before sleep.
HVDY yes grandchildren are tiring. You manage so well with yours. I only have the one, he’s very busy so there’s a lot of running around. Had a nice day. Went sofa shopping. We’ve been looking for a while so thought I’d decided then something else was thrown into the mix so still not made a decision. It’s a big purchase so we need to make the right decision. Then I went shopping on my own to a fairly nearby outlet centre while DH came to be with our dogs. We don’t like to leave them too long especially as the youngest looks like the bottom has dropped out of his world when we leave him! Had a good day. Hope you enjoyed your visit with your friend. It nice to get out. Foxy is a very lucky guy - gets to pick and choose what he eats!
Sweetpeasue Thank you for your kind words. Yes, you are right I’ve made my life busy. Now I’m feeling a bit better, I am seriously considering giving up my job
I just need to be sure of the finances and be confident I’m doing the right thing. Big decision. I understand why you must be so angry about the problems you’ve had after the gynaecology investigations. Should be such a simple procedure (as it was for me thankfully) and I’m so sorry it wasn’t the same for you. You must be so angry. I would feel so let down and resentful. I hope your pain has eased and I really wish you could be free from all this. It must be so difficult for you not knowing when it’s all going to come on. Hope you get a restful sleep tonight.
Doodle wishing you both a restful sleep.
Nadaterturbe you too.
And everyone else.

Need to be up early tomorrow. Grandson has a football tournament about 45
mins away, kick off 9 am! I’m going to pay for staying up so late! Night all xx

Sweetpeasue Sat 17-Feb-24 11:27:31

Nadateturbe I hope your arm is better today. You have so much to deal with and yet you still try to post to others. It must be really awkward typing with the 'wrong' hand. The car analogy v appropriate this morning. DH's car losing water so he took it to garage. He can't look at it for couple of weeks so having to rely on my old one.
Candy Hope you managed to crawl out of bed for the match! It's always scary making a decision when to leave work. DH been retired about 8yrs now . Everything would be great if we didn't have our health problems. We had some lovely holidays the first few yrs in cottages around Wales and Scotland.
I do feel let down by the Dr's involved in the fiasco of Hysteroscopy and I'll never know how much of that is involved in my pain now, or contributing to bladder pain now, but I'm not as angry as I was. It's no good and eats away at you.

Hope everyone's day goes well. X

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 17-Feb-24 11:52:15

Doodle Hope you and your husband had a decent night's sleep.
Wyllow3 Nice to see you still posting. Hope you're getting some better days.
Candy6 Hope the match went well and that your GS's team won. Was it muddy?
Nadateturbe Hope your arm is easier this morning.
SweetpeaSue How are you this morning? Is your husband's car a different type/size to yours? You seeing your aunt?

Foxy came at 10.45 (he must have been very hungry to be so early). Some cat was eating his luncheon meat, so he stood there, waiting grin. I've been putting off doing some cleaning and ironing - I just keep sitting looking at it grin. Suppose I'd better do it (nobody else will). Hope ALL BDers manage to see some sunshine today x

Sweetpeasue Sat 17-Feb-24 15:38:58

HVDY How strange for the fox to give way to the cat. They must be a little afraid of cats or he wasn't bothered about the luncheon meat.
Thanks HVDY but it's been a worrying day. DH's car bigger and mine a Fusion.y legs too short for his. Pain lasting much longer this morning but aunt confused sp rang and asked. Said we would take her by afternoon( hoping my pain had eased). When got out at supermarket car-park I had hold of her and DH suddenly grasped my other hand real tight. He was really unsteady with headache and dizzy. Had aunt in one arm and him in the other. I was so worried, something is wrong. Listened to aunt in coffee shop before getting a small amount of shopping but I just don't know what's happening. He's only getting CT scan on Tues whereas last time it was MRI plus he saw a Dr. Not sure how long results will take.
Everything is going wrong . He should have had this scan ages ago. Other day he felt stiff jaw while eating which I think is another sign of Temporal Arteritis. Don't know how much more we can do.

Hope everyone is OK today. X

Scaredycat Sat 17-Feb-24 16:13:28

Doodle- hope DH had a good sleep so that you too could get some much needed rest.
Believe me my body is old but after much sadness in my life I still enjoy silliness and and the fun of family- thank goodness.
Hope you,ve had a good day.
SweetPeaSue- you must be relieved your appt was changed to this coming week but it’s Sods Law isn’t it that it’s so close in time to your DH.appt.
I,m glad you feel less angry inside- you are right it can become all consuming and wear away at your mind and body.
HVDY- lovely ages your GD are - you are right they grow up too quickly one minute they are like Chubby Chops and next
they are asking for a new phone!!
That was a good chat with your friend- lovely when it just flows isn’t it.
Picturing Foxy watching his luncheon meat slide down the cats throat- he must be a bit of a softie!!
I,d give your hip a rest if I was you and just keep looking at the ironing.😄
Candy- glad you had a good day - so difficult to find a sofa that will be as comfortable at home as it is in the shop!!
Your little dog sounds sweet- bet he goes potty when you get home. Giving up your job is a life changing decision - it would be nice to be able to do some other things while you are still young enough to do them but of course it’s not an easy decision. Hope the football was good this morning and GS team won.
Nadateturbe- home your arm isn’t so sore today- it must have been so awkward to use the other one. I,m useless with my “other” one.
Wyllow- think of you often.
EllieAnne- hope the weekend isn’t too difficult and that you have managed to mend fences with your Daughter.

Love to all BD past, present and just reading

Ellie Anne Sat 17-Feb-24 16:39:41

Thanks scaredy cat. I’ve tried to phone her but no answer. She may be working. Going out tonight so will try again tomorrow.

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 17-Feb-24 16:45:12

SweetpeaSue My last car was a Ford Fusion, this one's a Dacia. DH's car (which he took off the road months ago and it sits idly on the drive) is a Mercedes coupe, automatic - I can drive it but it's very low. Your husband doesn't sound right at all. Perhaps the CT scan will show something, but it certainly sounds like Temporal Arteritis, and jaw claudication is a symptom. Not long until Tuesday. I hope the results will come back quickly so that he will get treatment (Prednisolone - he's had that before, hasn't he?) Foxes are not usually a threat to cats - we used to have one that came into the kitchen, and we had 3 cats then. It never bothered them.

I've got a sore, rough throat (DH said due to talking too much and perhaps he's right), although I don't feel unwell. Going to see Chubby Chops tomorrow - invited there for Sunday lunch, so I warned them about it. They said to still go. Hope everyone's day has been going ok x

Doodle Sat 17-Feb-24 17:22:45

Candy I was tired last night too but don’t have your excuse as I haven’t been doing much except talking on the phone.
Nice to have your DGS with you for a few days but that in itself can be quite exhausting. Hope you managed to have a bit of a quieter day today.
Your dogs sound lovely and well cared for. Hope your DGS does well at football.
HVdY sorry about your sore throat. Could be the talking 🤣
Lovely you’re going to spend the day with the little one and have lunch. Is she eating solids yet (sorry I’m not up with babies now 😊)
Your Foxie seems very polite. Cheek of the cat.
I’ve ironing to do tomorrow too. Might watch a film while I do it,
sweetpeasue what a worrying day for you. Aunt on one side and DH the other. Thank goodness you were able to stop them both from falling. Who ordered the CT scan was it your GP or Consultant? I’d certainly get in touch with whoever and tell them about this latest episode. Sorry you’ve got car troubles too but perhaps it’s just as well your DH wasn’t driving when he had the problem. Sorry your pain is playing up too.
I can imagine (a little) how you’re feeling. We’re a bit the same here. Up and down. Why this ill health has to cause a problem when we should be relaxed and enjoying life.
Scaredycat I think you’re amazing. I’m sure you do enjoy a bit of fun with your family, I’m so glad you do even after all you’ve been through.
Ellie Anne hope you have a good time tonight and can sort things out with your DD tomorrow.
nadateturbe how has your arm been today? Hope you are resting it a bit.
Wyllow thinking of you x

HowVeryDareYou2 Sat 17-Feb-24 17:38:26

Doodle I think I've done too much talking - 3 hours with my friend yesterday, then 2hrs on the 'phone with another one after that. grin. Baby now has 3 meals a day plus a few bottles (3?). She loves her food and is always SO happy. She's almost 8 months now. How are you and your husband today?

Sweetpeasue Sat 17-Feb-24 19:38:29

Scaredycat You have been through so much sadness in life and you are such a kind, cheery person. You are a special soul for sure. We all need a bit of silliness in our lives don't we? 🤡🤭 .
Re our appts -we will just have to hope they are running on time and we are there for each other when we need to be.
HVDY Oh your husband's car wouldn't suit me if it was quite low. My son's car is low and I can hardly get into it without putting my legs round my ears!
My husband isn't right HVDY. If it's Temporal Arteritis I don't know if CT scan would show it, I'll have to Google it but it might not be that. I don't know. It does sound like that. He is still on the Prednisone and will be for a long time as Polymyalgia can last quite a while. I really hope he doesn't have to increase it. Hope your sore throat goes and you have a nice day tomorrow.
Doodle I don't mind ironing too much, as long a there isn't a mountain of it.Good idea to combine it with TV.
It was GP who ordered the CT scan so I'm not certain he will see anyone Tuesday which is concerning as it will mean more waiting for results and interpretation. The GP may be at surgery on Monday. Not sure he will do anything else without the scan. I don't know about yourself but it takes so long for results and scans and follow up appts .His scan has come through quickly but I just wish GP had taken notice sooner. Yes we both feel like yourselves in that things seem to be piling up now and we want a break from it all. I hope you are OK with your chest Doodle. So much to cope with.
EllieAnne Hope everything goes well for you tomorrow with DD.
Nadateturbe Hoping you're OK and your arm is improved.
Wyllow Love and hugs.

Love to all and wishing a peaceful night.x

Ellie Anne Sat 17-Feb-24 22:30:04

Thanks everyone. If she doesn’t answer or phone back there’s not much I can do

Wyllow3 Sun 18-Feb-24 01:05:12

Night night loving wishes xx

Doodle Sun 18-Feb-24 17:32:13

How has everyone been today?
We’ve had a quiet day. DH had a shave (once a week now as he can’t stand up for long). I’ve done the ironing thank goodness.
Going to settle down soon to steak and chips. DH just had a gin and tonic and I’ve had a pina colada. Love it (out of a can Sainsbugs)
HVDY nearly 8 months. My how time flies. She sounds a lovely little one always so happy and content.
How’s your throat today?
Sweetpeasue I had a friend with Polymyalgia and she too was on steroids for a long time. I hope the CT scan can help with indicating what’s wrong with your DH. Such a worry for you in top of everything else. Yes we have to be there for each other don’t we. I would ask the CT scanner when the results will be back at the surgery and keep chasing for answers. Sometimes it’s the only way.
Ellie Anne try not to get worried about your daughter and lack of response. I tried phoning my son a few times and got no where so k worried myself to death but in the end a perfectly reasonable explanation and nothing to worry about, Hope you can be in contact soon. x

HowVeryDareYou2 Sun 18-Feb-24 18:41:18

SweetpeaSue I hope you've had a better day and that your husband hasn't had any headaches today. My throat is ok thanks, but now I'm snotty and sneezing. Son and DIL still wanted us to go there so we did.

EllieAnne Hope your daughter has been in touch.

Doodle Steak and chips then a little drink - lovely. We had a roast chicken dinner and some wine. My throat is not bad today, thanks.

It's been a different day - we went to a show we'd booked last August. It was a "post mortem live" thing (they're doing these shows all around the country). A real cadaver, proper Pathologist, all explained and shown, the show lasted 3 hours and was fascinating. We (there were 300 people there) got to dissect hearts, lungs, and tracheas. The smell, though, was horrendous (from gases in the body). Incredibly interesting. DH and I signed up for donating our bodies to medical science, 15 years ago.
