For the support, understanding and sharing of mental health issues.
All are welcome. We treat each other with kindness.

Doodle We had a quiet day day too. Morning a write off for me but felt better for afternoon. Pottered in garden a little cutting dead stuff and appreciating the crocus appeared in my tubs. Washed cushion covers. DH dyed .y roots(and chopped an inch of end of hair🫣) then blubbed for England through Fiddler on the Roof. Steak n chips husband's favourite Doodle. Will make sure DH asks about when to expect scan results in case I'm still in Oral Maxillofacial Dpt. at the time of his appt. The pina colada sounds lovely. Hope you both have a good night.
Nadateturbe Hoping you and DH are feeling better .
Hope everyone has been OK today.

Sweetpeasue Sun 18-Feb-24 18:58:20

HVDY Crossed posts. Hope you're not getting a cold.
What an erm, fascinating day. I know someone who had planned leaving her body to medical science. It's something v personal isn't it but so much must be gained by scientists and Dr's by doing this. I have enough nightmares as it is though so couldn't go to the show. Glad you've seen your Chubby Chops this weekend. Hope you see foxy tonight.

Candy6 Sun 18-Feb-24 22:07:39

Evening all.
HVDY yes you’ve certainly had a very different day. Glad you enjoyed it. I don’t think I’d like all the gore so well done. I’d not heard of those shows before. When I go to shows it’s to see Take That 🤣. I hope your cold is better.
Sweetpeasue glad you felt better this afternoon and managed to get out for some fresh air. It’s been quite a nice day here. We went for a nice walk this morning. I hope both your appointments go well on Tuesday and the timings work out for you.
Nadaterturbe I hope your arm is better and both you and DH are well.
Ellie Anne hope you managed to get in touch with your daughter.

Had quite a busy weekend. We go on holiday at the end of the week so I’ve busy packing. I hate packing, I get so stressed with it all. GS football went well yesterday and he played really well. We were there for hours though. Hope everyone else has had a good day. bed for me now. 2 days in work. Wish I could make a decision. Night all x

Wyllow3 Mon 19-Feb-24 00:15:25

Night night, BD's xx.

Scaredycat Mon 19-Feb-24 14:32:28

Doodle- Did you watch a film while ironing? What a good idea.
Oh Steak and Chips - my DH loves that too. I loved Pina Colada when I could drink- once had one in Florida that was so cold my head sort of froze!!
Why do we torture ourselves over those phone calls and the Whatifferies that pop straight into our heads. I have done that so many times.
Hope you are both ok today.
EllieAnne- hope you managed to get in touch with your daughter in the end.
HVDY- hope you haven’t developed a cold.
Did Chubby Chops enjoy her lunch - it sounded lovely. My Grandaughter was ages before she gave her first baby solids - much later than we did.
I must say your “show” sounded a bit different. I,m sure it was very interesting but it wouldn’t have been for me. I didn’t know that they existed. I didn’t like it when we had to watch teacher cut up an eyeball in Biology🤢 Think I,ll stick to musicals😄
SweetPeaSue- lovely to have a pottering afternoon in the garden- looks nice enough for that today. So nice to see all the little Daffs waking up.
Your DH sounds a Whizz in the Hairdressing dept- my DH is a bit of a blubber at films too.
Candy- packing is so stressful but not as stressful as unpacking though. I hope wherever you go you,ll have a lovely relaxing time - you have so earned it.
Glad it was a good day for the football- yourGS must have been so happy that you saw him play well.
Nadateturbe- hope you are both OK and your arm is improving.
Wyllow- as always good to see you

Take care allxx

nadateturbe Mon 19-Feb-24 17:04:20

Have skimmed through your posts everyone, Not coping well with typing and screens, so will have a break from social media this week.
Thinking of you all. xx

nadateturbe Mon 19-Feb-24 17:07:57

I hope the scan shows up your husbands problem Sweetpeasue. Poor man is suffering so much.x

HowVeryDareYou2 Mon 19-Feb-24 17:54:31

SweetpeaSue How have you and your husband been today? CT tomorrow? I used a root touch-up dye on mine the other day. It's a faff, isn't it? Men don't have to bother with all that.

Candy6 Take That - smile. Did/do you prefer Gary or Robbie? I'm more of an Arctic Monkeys fan. Standing on the sidelines at football for hours gets chilly - DH and I used to take folding chairs when we used to watch GD1 play rugby.
Hope you have a lovely holiday.

ScaredyCat My DIL and her daughter love musicals. They saw "Hamilton" before Christmas, and are going to see "Wicked" in March. Chubby Chops loves her food! Her dad (Son2) started solids at 4 weeks because he was such a big baby (almost 11lbs born). Hope you're had a decent day today.

nadateturbe Hope your arm improves soon.

Doodle, Whiff, EllieAnne, Wyllow3 and ALL BDers - hope you day has been as good as it might be.

I had a rotten night - snotty, bunged-up, headaches, fever. I changed my bed this morning, had a shower, and put clean nightwear on, and I've lounged about all day. I hope Baby Doll doesn't get it. x

Sweetpeasue Mon 19-Feb-24 18:32:39

Candy Spent many days shivering on the sidelines watching sons play in their team. I used to have my heart in my mouth half the time! My DGS is just starting to play football after school.Hope you enjoy your holiday -you deserve it after your busy working schedule.
Scaredycat I missed that obligatory eye-ball class-thank goodness. My DH hates cutting my hair. He just cuts the length but it really needs a proper cut.
My daffs still in bud but isn't it amazing when we see them again after Winter.
HVDY DH hasn't been as bad today as that Saturday though started with headache this afternoon. He's been helping cleaning windows and the cars today. I just want tomorrow over with. I couldn't sleep for worry. I've had to do my roots since late 20s. I inherited the premature greying gene from mum's side. She let it go snow white in her 50s and suited it. Sorry about that cold virus-you must feel rotten with it. Hope you can sleep tonight.
EllieAnne Hope you and your DD are on a more comfortable footing.
Nadateturbe Don't worry about posting, just take care of yourself and rest. Hope your DH is much better now. Thankyou for your kind concern .
Doodle How are you both today? I hope you both had a restful night last night free from the RBS.
Wyllow Sending love as always. x

Been dreading tomorrow for us both. Hope its not as bad as I'm imagining.
Wishing all a peaceful night and love to all not mentioned.

Ellie Anne Mon 19-Feb-24 21:35:41

Sweet pea sue i hope everything goes well tomorrow with your appointments.
Have spoken to dd but didn’t go into everything because it wouldn’t have helped. I’ve told her I will visit next month.
Good night everyone

Sweetpeasue Mon 19-Feb-24 21:54:01

Thankyou EllieAnne I hope you feel a little better knowing you've spoken . I'm sure your own instincts are right. Sleep well tonight. X

Candy6 Mon 19-Feb-24 22:47:44

Hi all,
Scaredycat yes, unpacking isn’t nice because of all the washing! I shouldn’t moan, I’m grateful I’m able to go. Funny story about your head freezing, that drink must have been extremely cold. I’m not really one for cocktails but I don’t mind them. Hope you’ve had a good day.
Nadaterturbe sorry you are struggling, don’t worry about not posting, a rest might do you good. Will be thinking about you.
HVDY ooh I liked Robbie and went to see him a few times when he went solo. He’s a good entertainer although I think I Gary has aged better. I think he’s lived a bit “cleaner”! Yes it’s cold standing on the sidelines. Because he plays academy football, the facilities are slightly better, ie we get a small stand to sit in - it’s far from luxury though but at least we can keep dry and there’s toilets and refreshments available if we’re desperate. I hope your cold is better this evening and yes, you worry about passing these things on to the little ones I know. At least chubby chops will have acquired some immunity by now so hopefully she won’t get it. I found out today that someone in work may have covid, 🤞I don’t get it before my holiday! She’s quite poorly apparently but young so I’m sure she’ll be ok.
Sweetpeasue yes it’s funny how things have come full circle. We too used to watch my son play and now we’re doing it all again. It’s nerve wracking because you want them to do well. I hope the appointments for you both go well tomorrow. I’ll be thinking about you.
Ellie Anne glad you got to speak with your daughter. Hope it’s made you feel a bit better.

I’ve been out for tea after work with some of the people I work with. We’re not allowed to speak to each other in work so we need to go out for a good gossip! Nice not to have to cook though.
Love to Wyllow and everyone else. Night night xx

HowVeryDareYou2 Mon 19-Feb-24 22:59:09

SweetpeaSue I started going grey at about 25 (my hair was naturally almost black) and kept colouring it dark, until about 4 years ago. It's all white now, but I have blonde highlights. I'm having it cut and highlighted in couple of weeks. All the best for tomorrow. hope all goes well for you both.

EllieAnne I'm glad you spoke with your daughter. It will be easier to chat with her face to face, I expect.

Candy6 Nice to go out for a meal. I love that. It's always good to not have to cook.

Son2 came round earlier, wanted the spare inhaler DH has got, as his breathing is bad (he's Asthmatic) - his GP hasn't got any appointments and can't precribe an inhaler until Thursday! I put foxy's food out at 10.30, then noticed a much smaller fox was out there, eating it!

Hope ALL BDers have a restful night x

Wyllow3 Tue 20-Feb-24 00:42:55

Best nights possible, BD's xx

Whiff Tue 20-Feb-24 05:03:52

Just to let you know still reading and wishing you all the best as so many of you are waiting for tests or your loved ones are. Very tense time for you all . Been tied up with the support thread have a couple of nasty posters who are attacking us estranged parents blaming us for our children dumping us. They estranged their parents so of course we are to blame and know exactly why our child did it. I got attacked and when I fought back surprise surprise they reported me and got my post deleted. But the thread has been going 11 years so it proves how much it is still needed.

My fear is they will appear on here but I will report them if they do as the last thing anyone of you need is the vileness they have been spouting.

Wyllow always glad when I see your check in .

Keep going all of you . Your strength and courage shines through every post. Nice to see the support you give to new posters but then again that's what you all do no matter how much is going on in your lives you always give kindness , understanding and more importantly friendship to all. 💐

Doodle Tue 20-Feb-24 18:30:28

What happened to my post yesterday 😱. I wrote a long post in response to everyone one and it’s not here. Don’t understand it. Sorry don’t have the energy to re type it all.
Scaredycat in the end I didn’t watch a film but I did watch the Church service on line from CofE. Then after I watched an hour long Pam Ayres show on you tube. Ive always liked her poems.
Steak and chips is our long term favorite.
Sweetpeasue I can understand your anxiety. Hope you manage to sleep tonight and that tomorrow all goes well. Be thinking of you x
Candy hope you have a lovely holiday. Are you gojng abroad or in the Uk. Hope you enjoyed your meet up with work colleagues. Nice to have a catch up away from work.
Whiff so pleased you’re still with us. Reading is fine. Nice to know you’re still around. So sorry about your support thread. I know it’s been going a long time. Some people are just out to cause trouble. Hope you’re ok and it’s sorted now.
HVDY my SIl went grey at an early age as did her mum and sisters. She put a lilac tint on it (very subtle) so many people admired it. Mine is brown. 🙁
Hope your son is ok. It’s really bad the Gp can’t prescribe an inhaler till Thursday. Perhaps your son should ask for 2, one for now and one spare. Oh my. Do you think Foxie has a son or daughter.
I couldn’t have coped with the show you went to but can understand how interesting it might have been
Ellie Anne I wonder if it’s a case of least said soonest mended. Glad you got to talk to your DD Hope you get to see her soon.
Wyllow and Nadateturbe sleep well. Thinking of you both. X

Sweetpeasue Tue 20-Feb-24 18:57:57

* HVDY*Hope you're feeling a bit better today. Greying early is a genetic thing isn't it. Got my first white hair at school and another pupil noticed it and half of the cloakroom were fascinated after it was pulled out and examined.
Whiff I'm so sorry you've had to go through such a horrid experience . It makes your estrangement experience so much worse to cope with. I hope you're OK now. I'm sure you have lots of supportive long term friends on there and they are the ones that count.
Doodle Thankyou for posting the lost posts and for your thoughts today. I hope you and your husband have had a decent day and a more peaceful night.
Wyllow So hoping you will start to feel a little better soon. Gentle hug.x

Sat in the waiting room a lady told of her osteoporosis (she had her second broken leg) because of long term steroid use and Polymyalgia with Temporal Arteritis. She'd lost lots of teeth too! DH had CT scan (which doesn't pick up Temporal Arteritis) and got results this afternoon-it's normal. He had to lie down with bad headache this afternoon.
The Dr I saw was really nice.Looked at white ulcerated area and needs biopsy.Nurse said overbooked on Friday but he went over and looked at list and fitted me in. After biopsy I'll need a stitch in my tongue. I'm sorry but I've just got an awful feeling about all this. I'm out of my mind with worry. Bladder pain so just taken all meds. I'm so scared. I'll need to find big girl pants that's for sure.

Hope everyone is coping with their own personal problems and anxieties.Sending love. X

nadateturbe Tue 20-Feb-24 19:56:41

Sweetpeasue It's a terrible time for you. I hope they do some more tests for your poor husband.
And it's good they are investigating the white area on your tongue so quickly. And it may well be nothing serious, but it's hard not to worry.
I'm giving you a big hug, which you badly need.x
Doodle hope you are both OK. I watch a church service every week. So good when it's hard to get to one.
Thinking of everyone else too.x

Doodle Tue 20-Feb-24 21:00:07

Just sent up a little prayer for you Sweetpeasue . I hope and pray it turns out to be nothing to worry about but at least you’re getting it seen quickly. It’s good news about your DH but obviously doesn’t help you with knowing what’s wrong. Is he due to go back to the GP?
nadateturbe yes I usually watch a service online if I can’t go one week. Sleep well

nadateturbe Tue 20-Feb-24 21:53:01

Prayers from me too.
Goodnight all, hope its a peaceful one.

HowVeryDareYou2 Tue 20-Feb-24 22:07:29

Whiff Not everyone on Gransnet is friendly - I noticed that a few years ago (under a different name then). Don't bother about them, they sound very unpleasant.

Doodle Son2's surgery will only let him have one inhaler then they say he needs to be seen by the Asthma nurse, even though he rarely has to use an inhaler (like me, it's when he gets a cold). Foxy might well have some offspring. How have you and your husband been today?

SweetpeaSue I hope the hospital is planning on doing more tests for your husband. He must be sick of all these bad heads. The tongue problem you've got is at least going to be dealt with quickly. It must be frightening but try not to think the worst. I hope all goes well.nadateturbe

nadateturbe, Wyllow3, EllieAnne, ScaredyCat, Candy, ALL BDers, new and regular - hope you all have a restful night. x

Sweetpeasue Tue 20-Feb-24 22:32:53

Thankyou all for your support and prayers.I appreciate them so much.
Hospital not planning on any more tests for DH HVDY. Just did scan that GP requested for 'headaches'. He will need to go back to GP and we need to try and convince him how bad these headaches are. Woman in waiting room said she had to have biopsy from temple to prove Temporal Arteritis. I realise she was just someone in waiting room though how strange she had all this to say.
The Dr we saw asked about my experience of that op. He had all my records. DH tried to deflect it to avoid upset but he wanted to hear some basics. He assured me he would be there for me on Friday. I trust him. But it won't be pleasant.
Just want DH right. We worry about each other. As we all do about our loved ones.
Peaceful night wished for all. X

Wyllow3 Wed 21-Feb-24 00:06:49

Night night all BD's xx.

HowVeryDareYou2 Wed 21-Feb-24 11:19:31

SweetpeaSue That's really poor. Perhaps you could mention to the GP about that lady in the waiting room.

What a miserable day - pouring with rain. I had a horrible night of being shivery/hot etc. Woke up absolutely drenched in sweat, so have changed my bed again. Meant to be visiting SIL this afternoon (don't feel like it). I wish she wasn't on the other side of town. Hope ALL BDers are ok today x

nadateturbe Wed 21-Feb-24 11:43:57

Sweetpeasue good advice from HVDY.
HVDY don't think you should be going out. Sounds like you have a temperature. Look after yourself.
