My adult daughter has just been diagnosed with what the doctors called an accessory pathway of the heart. She had a very fast heartbeat recently.

Any doctors on here who could explain this condition? It’s all a bit worrying.

Sallywally go on the British heart Foundation website . If you don't find the answers you want you can phone them and speak to a nurse who will explain in plain English fir you. Also there are forums for various conditions and I found it very helpful taking to others with same heart condition as me and put my mind at rest.

Go on the British Heart Foundation site, it is easier to understand than some sites.

It is not a good idea to ask for professionals to reply on a social network, anyone can say they are a doctor, lawyer, etc it doesn’t mean that they are.

I'm a NHS Cardiac Physiologist, there are several reason. She needs to get the correct info from her Cardiologist.
I agree with others you do need expert advice. as it depends on the pathway.
BHF is good, we give those booklets out to patients, as they are really comprehensive and easy to understand.
It could be something she was born with, which is now manifesting it's self. Don't worry trust her Cardiologist who will sort it for her.

Thanks she is now back home. She had lots of investigations but faces another in a couple of months. Ablation therapy? Though she may have been born with it I don’t understand why it wasn’t picked up earlier. She is now on beta blockers. She is 43
