Reduced lymphocytes

DH had his bloods taken on 2 January for his upcoming diabetic review. Thought everything must be OK as heard nothing from the surgery. However they phoned yesterday to say doctor had reviewed the blood results and he needed another full blood count because of reduced lymphocytes. He'd had the tests done at the surgery but they now want them done at the hospital as apparently the path lab can process them more quickly. In house they can sometimes take a day to reach the lab. I'm worrying more than him. Anyone else had this and did it all sort itself out. He's definitely not ill, probably drinks too much red wine but apart from that he's fine.

you can't know until further tests.
it's good that his GP is on to it promptly, and arranging more tests.
so often nowadays, things get left, forgotten.
anyway, try to keep occupied, don't let your anxiety infect him.
is there something near the hosp that you can look forward to doing after the test, a walk, or nice cafe, something as if tourists.
all the best.

Has your husband had the 2nd blood test yet at the hospital? My husband has lymphocyte level of 0.8 which is the bottom end of normal.
Did they tell you his level?

0.35. Think normal starts, as you say, at your DH's level. Managed to get a repeat full blood count yesterday so will wait and see. He's absolutely fine in himself. He does take Furosemide and I read that this sometimes can reduce the level. Think I've been reading too much! Also alcohol can be a cause of reduced level and first blood test was day after New Year/Christmas so wonder whether that has affected it. Is your DH needing to repeat?

Good to have the blood test done quickly. I hope you get the results out of the way soon.

No my husband's test wont be repeated for lymphocyte levels, but he needs his iron levels checked and they weren't part of the FBC. Which is a nuisance and a waste of time.
