Candy It's nice to watch grandchildren playing sport. GD1 has, in the past few years, done Judo, football, cricket, swimming and rugby. I'm glad the ADs work for you. They can make a big difference.

I'm so sorry you've had such a lot of pain again. It must be very difficult to know how much, or which, painkillers to take. Chubby Chops was here 10.30-7ish. She gets about all over the place, in the kitchen and everywhere (we're open plan from dining room to kitchen, so we'll need to get a baby gate of some kind). She's realised that if she's in the ball pool thing, she can lean against it and it collapses (it's a pop-up one) and she can get out .

Candy It must be lovely watching your DGS play football and reminding you of your son playing. I used to watch my own sons ,though it gets more scary when they get bigger! Glad the ADs have helped you when those frightening feelings returned when your son went back. Hope you're feeling more relaxed now. I hate saying goodbye to my son after he's been here.
HVDY Sounds like a great family celebration coming up. Great idea to have it at son's house where you can all be together. Hope you've enjoyed having baby today -- you're a full on Grandma and must be much appreciated. They grow so fast though don't they?
Nadateturbe I'm not the same person I was ( before pain). I've been hoping everything can change and I can be 'as I was' but losing hope now. Something you said to HVDY- about coping so long you get used to it? I never want to , and I guess you didn't either. When things are not so bad ,I think I can handle it, then when they're awful I go back to square one. Do you know what I mean? Sorry I'm sounding a bit obscure. I feel for you because it's so hard the unpredictability and see-saw of expectations of what each day will be like. I hope you are feeling more of an acceptance of your new diagnosis.

V bad pain during the night I'm afraid. Didn't take full dose of painkillers so lasted longer than it needed to. By the time I realised the extent , and took everything , took much longer to kick in. Trying to get balance right not easy. Been a decent day though so swings and roundabouts. Would rather be on an even keel though.

Oh a positive-- looks like my blackbird has returned and made a nest in our clematis. 😊

Doodle A lot of us use Google for looking up medical things (I do). Whilst the treatment might be rare, your Consultant knows what he's doing. He sounds very caring and understanding, and is going to get you sorted out very quickly. Please try not to worry about your husband, your lovely family will help.

Doodle just concentrate on yourself and go into your operation with a positive frame of mind . And trust in your surgeon. He wouldn't be doing the operation if he wasn't confident he can help you.

Your husband will be ok but of course he will be worried sick about you . But that's the price we pay for loving and being loved.

You will both be fine and have many more years together. Love does conquer all. 💝

Doodle So good of you to update us. Glad the consultant is doing his best to help around the situation with your DH. He sounds really nice and I'm sure you'll be in good hands. Please don't worry about things at home while you're in hospital , it will be fine there. Of course you've consulted Dr Google --we all do.
Remember half the stuff we read about never happens. Thankfully you're being seen to quickly and you will be OK.

You mustn't worry about keeping up with the thread. Looking after yourself and DH is priority.

Doodle- thank you so much for taking the time to give us an update. I hope you are able to be admitted on Wednesday- the sooner you can have your treatment the better. I,m sure it is a very daunting prospect but thank goodness you are being helped. Your DH will be in the best of hands so you can concentrate on your recovery. Take care- we all feel so much for you. Quick update. I think I may be admitted to hospital Wednesday. The surgeon rang me this morning and he’s aware of my home situation with DH needing care so is trying to cut out some of the delays in getting me booked in. The procedure is rare (sorry don’t want to explain at the moment) and looking online is scary (I knew I shouldn’t have done it).
Been so busy trying to make sure food is in beds made up and packing done. So much to organise. Sorry I am not keeping up with the thread. Hope I’ll be able to do so later this week.

And to me, thank you. Very understanding. I feel for everyone with M.E. And I think pills can cause more problems, but of course there are times when you don't have a choice really. Times when you will take anything for relief. Your walk and sitting on the beach sounded exhilarating and lovely. I'm sure it did you both good. I too wish there was an end to your pain and problems.
HVDY I think its mild although consultant thought moderate. Who knows? We cope with things so long, we become used to them.
Nice of your son to suggest his house. I'm sure it will be fun.
EllieAnne you don't sound very happy, I hope you are OK.
Wyllow3 please talk to someone. Can you maybe visit your DD? We all care about you.

HVDY grandson’s team came second overall. They didn’t play as well as they can but that’s the way it goes sometimes. He loves it that’s the main thing. I like Sketchers, so comfy. We have an outlet store not that far away so I usually go there. They don’t have the full range there, but its very good. Enjoy your day with chubby chops tomorrow. I’m looking after GS too tomorrow as it’s a training day at school. My retirement has come in very handy! And yes, you are right, we re all thinking about Doodle.
Nadaterturbe I’m sorry for your diagnosis but you seem to have accepted it well. Like you say, it doesn’t change anything but I hope you get the help you need as and when you need it.
Scaredycat Yes, I stood around a lot previously too with my son. It’s strange now doing it all again. But we do enjoy it. Hope you have had a good day today.

Wyllow sorry you are not getting the help you need. MH resources are dreadful. We are all encouraged to speak out more now, which is good, but there needs to be additional resources available to help. Take care.

I’ve not had the best time mentally the last few days. My son has been home and has gone back this evening. It triggers me but thankfully not as bad as it used to do (thanks to the ADs). It’s surprising how powerful these feelings can be. I’ll be ok though I know and I’m grateful for that.

nadateturbe I hope your symptoms aren't too bad. I know there are different types of MS. It's my birthday on Wednesday, my husband's the following Monday. We always go out for a joint meal, with all the family. This time, Son2 has suggested having a buffet at his house (he's got the biggest house of us all), so there'll be 7 adults, 5 children and of course, Baby Doll.

SweetpeaSue You must be sick and tired of the bowel and bladder problems. I wish someone would sort things out properly for you. I'll be 65, DH will be 66. Seeing Chubby Chops tomorrow.

EllieAnne I hope you manage to relax at your daughter's. The break will do you good.

DIL texted me at 6.30, asked if we could have Chubby Chops all day tomorrow! She said she needs to get a lot of jobs done in the house and can't do them with the baby (how did we all manage?). Obviously, we said yes. . Hope ALL BDers have a restful sleep x

Wyllow It's awful that you're not getting the help you need. I hope you're in touch with your sister, as I realise you usually isolate from everyone when really poorly, but you need someone to talk to. Wish there was something we could say or do. Please don't give up and keep pushing for help. You are cared about. X
HVDY Oh your birthday next week -- does that mean you're catching up with us? Very windy here today and I've been in faffing around. DH did my roots again. I didn't know your Chubby Chops was so close- that's lovely. I've not been too bad , thanks. just the bowel and bladder being really uncomfortable. I'm fed up with it.
Nadateturbe I'm sorry you've been given another diagnosis to contend with. I know it doesn't make the symptoms change, having another label, but it must be disheartening after all this time. I understand about trying not to take more pills, especially if they're not going to be of any significant help and you have to weigh up any side effects too. You must find it strange (annoying ) that some have not understood the awful symptoms of the ME. Its sad indeed that it still isn't given serious consideration by some, even when it's so debilitating. I'm glad you at least have some answers to why your eyes have been so bad.
Scaredycat Not surprising you come back from a walk looking bedraggled in this wind! I've not been out in it today but yesterday we had a small walk and found a concrete pillar on one side of a beach groyne, which we sat on with the waves very close. It was nice with the sun out.

Thanks for the kind comments. I'm not particularly worried. Same symptoms, different name. I've already had more understanding than I've had with an M.E. diagnosis since2007. Sad really. Wouldn't get pills without a lumbar puncture to confirm, and I don't want any. I've managed fine so far. If I suddenly got worse I would consider it.
HVDY I have some slip-on Skechers, very comfy. Also Riekers with zips not quite as comfy as the Skechers. Birthday next week, I expect you will have a family celebration.
Scaredycat could you take a folding seat maybe. I can't believe you have all those GC and GGC. It's lovely to have some close.

ScaredyCat I ended up getting some Sketchers (DH insisted, says they're the best), "Slip-ins", in pink, £60. I'm used to Asda's own brand, about £15! I might still buy some cheap ones, for knocking around in. Chubby Chops is only 2 miles away. She was asleep yesterday so I didn't see her, but will see her in the week, for my birthday.

nadateturbe I haven't pegged any out, it's too windy. Still not looked at the ironing. MS is a concerning diagnosis. Have you already had an MRI? Do they know what type of MS?

Hi HVDY you're right if course Doodle is very much on our minds.
I am having an exciting day too. So stormy here. DH pegged the bedclothes on the line and some of the pegs flew off and hit the window very hard. (Yes, I know, stupid hanging them out). Your DH is good at helping with jobs.
I had a neurologist appointment yesterday and he's pretty sure I have M.S. and not M.E. judging by my symptoms. He specialises in M S. He offered a lumbar puncture to confirm it but said there's not really any point as it wouldn't change anything. It probably explains why my eyes aren't great with screens.

It's very windy, and quite cool, today. DH has gone to Son2's to help with some job, so I'm going to do some ironing, and clean the kitchen floor (exciting times here ). x

Things are very bad and not enough help. Loving wishes to all BD's ....Not ignoring anyone but a special thought Doodle if you catch this before you have to disappear.
