My arm and shoulder aching since blood tests today. Never had that before.
Sweetpeasue your book choice was a success. Great! I haven't finished 80% read, but enjoying it. And the humour is good.
I can't remember that bit of El.Oliphant. must look back. I'm useless at remembering. Your garden will be lovely when you've finished.
I'm glad your husband is having a reasonably good day. You seem to be managing a little better at the minute (shhh).
My left eye isn't really any better I think I've just got used to the pain when I wake up and try to open it.
And neck arthritis is sooo painful last two days.
Must give body a rest. (falling apart ) Back later.x

nadaturbe My arm is very painful - I wouldn't have bothered having the jab if I'd known it needs to be repeated in 6 months. It has poured with rain every minute of the day here, and it's quite cold. I love all animals, and if any need some kind of help, I'll help it. Oh, Arthritis isn't nice. Is it worse in wet weather? Do you take medication to help?

How has everyone been today? I went to the day centre, had spag bol then a lemon sponge with ice cream. We had quizzes and games, it was good. Hope ALL BDers have a restful night x

HVDY oh dear, your arm will probably be difficult to sleep with Surely it will ease by tomorrow. Every 6 mths. Honestly it's hard to keep up with vaccinations. Our arms would be like pin cushions. I think I'll just have flu in future. I only take paracetamol and occasionally cocodamol. I use Piroxicam gel and cold packs. I'm not good with strong painkillers or any pills really. I always have reactions I have a list of things I can't take.
I think you would have enjoyed working with animals. Lunch sounded good. Your day centre seems a great place.

Wyllow3 Sweetpeasue is right you're doing so well.
I hope the sun shines and you enjoy a walk with your MH worker. As others have said, be kind to yourself. You didn't deserve to be treated as your ex treated you.x

We are in the hospice and it is beautiful. DH in pain following journey and initial treatment but now settled and in deep sleep. I am more at rest myself x

Doodle that's brilliant news. Didn't mean because your husband is in pain. But being in the hospice will be better for you both. And hopefully you can get some peace and sleep better. I know you both wanted him home but you both knew you couldn't have coped. It's physically and mentally exhausting especially if you are well yourself. Now you can have quality time together and hopefully they can get your husbands pain under control . 🤗 Hug for you both .

Caught up today and healing hugs for some very difficult pain.

Walk with worker, she realises I've got worse and extra worker visit Tuesday to try and get more sorted, I haven't the oompf to ring GP or agencies that might give more support. I just doubt non MH trained helpers could cope with what I say...But support very short supply.

Doodle, pleased your husband is getting the care he needs, you will get more rest and the time you do spend together will be quality time now. That’s why hospices are so vital to everyone of us.
Arthritis been unbearable for weeks now, every joint hurts, bones I didn’t know I had🙁 Yesterday I woke up and reached to out put on the bedside light and did so without pain, it’s getting easier due to the weather warming up, I have to move around more when it’s bad, sitting in one spot it’s then an effort to get moving especially if it’s more than an hour. If I lived in a country like Spain, sure I would be so much better. I’m not going though. When it’s bad that’s when I get really down as I feel it’s never getting better this time and cross because I can’t do regular things. I donthink depression is worse than any physical pain though.
Wyllow I do hope that with extra assistance you begin to get sorted, couldn't one of the carers contact the surgery for you if you tell them how you are feeling.
HVDY hope you’re feeling better, I had to cancel my jab as the day it was due I felt too bad to drive to surgery. I didn’t realise it was to be every 6 months.
Natertube, my neck arthritis when it’s really bad as it’s been lately, creaks every time I move my head, what’s strange is when the pain eases no more creaking, it’s as if someone has come along and used an oil can on my joints like a creaking door. Do you get that?
To everyone I haven’t mentioned, to all of you, hope today is a good day for you all.

Doodle I'm glad you're there now, I'm sure you were both exhausted when you arrived. Hope you got some decent sleep... You'll be able to concentrate more on your time together now.. I will be praying for your DH, and you. x

Doodle That's excellent news about getting the place in the hospice. I hope your husband's pain will be managed effectively, and that you'll both be able to relax a bit.

nadateturbe My arm is still very sore, swollen (the lump is 4 inches across, is red and hot. I won't bother with the next one. I wish I'd worked with animals, but I worked with people (carer) for 20 years instead, and enjoyed being able to help them. Hope you have a better day today.

Allsorts Your Arthritis sounds awful. Do cod liver oil capsules make any difference at all?

Wyllow3 MH care is quite poor, I believe, but I hope you can get some help.

I went across to feed the neighbour's cat at 7, spent 50 minutes with her. They told me to lock her out all day, but I couldn't do that, especially with all the heavy rain we've had. She's a nice little thing, about 15 years old. They're back later, anyway. Hope ALL BDers manage to have a decent day. x

Allsorts I'm sorry to hear you suffer so badly with arthritis. It sounds unbearably painful. Makes mine seem like "wee buns".
I too wish I had retired somewhere warm. The only downside to here is our weather.
My husband gets that creaking, but his neck isn't too bad.
Mine feels like my bones are all jammed together solid. Wouldn't it be great to have an oil can that fixed it all.

HVDY you're a born carer. I'm sure you were great with people too.
That's awful about your arm. I hope it's OK to ignore it. I definitely wouldn't want another. Maybe cold compress will help.

HVD just had a quick Google and apparently that is common and can last 2-3 days!

Candy I'm glad your dog recovered OK, I didn't know algae would be dangerous.
I would be a bit wary too if I lived near rats. We found a dead one behind our fridge once when a lot of building was going on next door. The smell was awful.
Hope you're getting used to retirement and enjoying it.
Scaredycat I'm still amazed that you cope so well with permanent AF. And can be so positive (at least no fear of having an episode). I really admire you. But of course that's how we need to be. And I seem to have lost that a bit. Thanks for the reminder.
It was so funny finding a cat asleep in your birdhouse. That would have been a great photo.
Painting is verrry slow atm, causing aches, doing an archway door, love doing doors and windows.
Unpredictability does cause problems. But like all of you I (mostly) get used to limits.

nadateturbe I loved my care roles (I "specialised" in dementia care, but did MH and learning disability care, too, as well as elderly care). We once had a dead creature somewhere in the kitchen (all our appliances are built-in/integrated, so we didn't find it - the smell was like nothing I'd ever known and took weeks to go. Hope your hair is done to your liking. Just look at magazines, pretend you're engrossed, then nobody will bother you

A born carer HVDY! At least we found the cause of our pong. You wouldn't believe a little creature could smell so strong.
Hairdressers was fun. I was fine once I got there. We had a fun chat, mostly about funny things our husbands do. 😄

HVDY - hope your arm feels better soon- maybe the person who did the jab wasn’t very gentle.
You will always be a carer for everyone - furry or human - you have such a kind nature.
I get the feeling that you are getting Cat withdrawal symptoms- me too but not something to rush into is it. Maybe that visiting one will move into the little house.
What a lovely lunch at the day centre- any thing lemon flavoured is yummy. Glad you enjoyed the day.
Nadateturbe- have you seen that there are now some hairdressers who offer silent appointments for those who don’t like talking when having their hair done!!

You might be surprised how other helpers may listen to you and possibly help you think more positively. You really have had the stuffing knocked out of you but we all want you to have the good days again.

Allsorts- you,re right mental and physical pain are both pain but just manifest differently.Constant physical pain like you are experiencing wears away at you - glad the warmth is helping a bit. Let’s hope it’s here to stay. Not being able to do the things you love or even have to do is so frustrating and brings you down too. Hope you soon feel more comfortable.

Scaredycat I heard that on the morning news. My hairdresser said she's quite happy when people sit down and open a magazine as it gives her a break from chatting. Good to know. Sometimes it uses a lot of energy up, talking. Over 70% surveyed thought it was ok not to talk. Interesting.
