Metal partial denture anyone?

Like Lilymae, I also had a metal plate after decades of a series of acrylic ones. For me the stainless steel one was a revelation in comfort and unobtrusiveness.

Again, though, like Lilymae, I was given the opportunity to have a bridge instead and that was a further leap forward in aesthetic improvement - to me the wearer, and to others whom I live with and those I associate with.

I broke my 2 front teeth falling off my bike as a child so have had every solution over the years. Acrylic denture, metal denture, bridge and now implants. I would rate them in that order for comfort and convenience.

I have had a partial metal denture lower jaw for over 15 years.no problems.took abit of getting used to initially but now I don't notice it. If you feel it isn't right then do go back as it may well need adjustments. I use polygrip as well. Maybe give that a try.good luck x

I have had one since 2019 on lower teeth for a group of three false double teeth and am so pleased with it. There are small metal parts at each end that fix the denture firmly on the end of my wisdom teeth and a tiny metal bit in one of the single teeth near the front with some metal running behind the teeth of my lower teeth. Hard to describe and I expect there are many different sorts available, may depend on what suits best.
They never move and I am able to eat anything! It took a few weeks to gain confidence of eating apples but now just eat anything with no problems. Good luck with yours.
Obviously at first it felt rather strange, but I had had a brace as a child and so knew that I would get used to it!

My SinL has a metal one, only partial, as she has such a strong ‘bite’ and the other sort kept snapping.

Mine has acrylic and metal on it. On day one I felt I wanted to spit it out but then I got really used to it. But I became lazy and stopped putting it in my mouth and now I find it hurts. I think you need to persevere. (I have heard some bad tales about implants.)
