This zinger of pain makes me cry out. Any ideas?

I will see the doctor if I can next week.

The affected area is on my left side, best described as where I put my knuckles where the side of my bra sits. The needle sharp pins and needles episodes only lasts about 5 seconds but it really hurts. It doesn’t happen every day and isn’t affected by breathing in or out. I have health anxiety at the best of times so this is worrying me. I’m hoping it’s just a trapped nerve or something.

Any thoughts on it? Have any of you ever experienced similar?
I will go to the doctor. And I will share with you next week what I’m told but in the meantime I thought I’d ask on her!

I had this when I was having chemo. The hospital gave me an injection just in case I had a clot but when the test came back in the morning it was negative.
I think they are being over cautious and I really hope it is nothing.

Good morning everyone how lovely and truly supportive are you all? Such genuine kindness touches me. Thank you.

Wythenshawe hospital have just rung me. I have a scan appointment there at noon. I promise to update you all later.

Himself nipped down to the pharmacy below us at 8am and got my tablets.

As Marydoll said, the wait for results can bring the time there to between 4 and 6 hours. Results given on discharge. 🤞 it’s not a clot and we can fly tomorrow! As Himself just said ‘let’s just hope you’re okay that’s the main thing’. True of course.

Not wishing to add to your worries, FGT, you please remember to update your travel insurance company AFTER, you know what is happening.

In the event of any claim, they go through your medical records with a fine tooth comb, I have had experience of this.
The slightest omission can invalidate it.

Hope you can get away to your happy place FGT🤞💐

Hope all goes well x

So glad you’re able to have your holiday FGT. Have a good time and leave it all behind. Safe journey. ✈️

Marydoll Wed 30-Oct-24 12:40:29

Has FGT received her results?
Where did you see the news, Summerly?

Aldom Wed 30-Oct-24 13:42:42

Marydol looking back at the last post from FGT makes me think that Summerly has not noticed the *crossed fingers*symbol. This would change the meaning of the sentence, implying FGT is allowed to fly. smile

Am sat in the waiting room. Had my scan 90 minutes ago. They’ve left the cannula in - in case they wanted to take more bloods but I’m hoping not - maybe last night’s are enough to go on. I’m glad I brought a small picnic Boo Boo. I came prepared for a long wait as per leaflet instructions….
So no news yet.

crazyH Wed 30-Oct-24 13:53:28

I don’t think we know yet whether FGT is allowed to fly. If I’ve read it correctly, she’s having a scan today.

Marydoll Wed 30-Oct-24 14:13:58

I knew she was having a scan about lunchtime, that is why I asked.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 30-Oct-24 14:20:40

FGT2 posted at 15.53!

Georgesgran Wed 30-Oct-24 14:23:21

No ….. it was 13.53

I’m sure FGT2 will tell us her results as soon (or a little later) as she’s got them. 🤞

Georgesgran Wed 30-Oct-24 14:25:04

Sorry - her post, 90 minutes after having her scan was at 13.53

Marydoll Wed 30-Oct-24 14:27:32

It was Summerly's post, which threw me. I thought the blood results had come back with a positive outcome, although I knew the scan hadn't been done yet.
Just hoping FGT gets her trip.

Sadly, I’ve always been numerically challenged!

BREAKING NEWS:
All clear, yippeeeee! No pulmonary embolism.
No more bloods were taken.
The consultant said “go away and enjoy your holiday tomorrow! Likely to just be musculoskeletal pain. Rest up on a lounger with a book and a G&T”.

I cannot tell you all the absolute RELIEF I feel this afternoon! Thank you again for helping me stay a good bit calmer through this. I’m such a worrier but I so wanted Himself to enjoy another holiday and I was anxious in case we couldn’t go.

merlotgran your words last night especially soothed me “try not to worry, they’re on it now”. It was my mantra in bed. Thanks.

Anyway … Just home and the kettle’s on. 😁

Great news

MissAdventure Wed 30-Oct-24 16:00:25

Excellent news, fgt. 🥳

mamaa Wed 30-Oct-24 16:00:33

YesFGT that’s great news, I’ve been wondering how you’d got on.
Maybe getting the blood thinners only this morning will have worked out well too as they won’t really be in your system-and seeing as how you don’t need them-have no need to take any more. Yippee- go and grab that sun-bed, and you and Himself have a great time in your happy place. 🥂🥂🥂drinks tbc xx
