I have Ganfort and Simbrinza for a problem in one eye. I've used the medication for years. No concern thankfully. It seems to look better than my other eye!

Veejay its listed on the instruction notes under side effects.

Also the periorbital darkening. I have always had dark circles under my eyes. But now they have darkened more and carry round over the lids

Helter Skelter1 How do know they cause hair loss,? asking because I am on Ganfort and suffered hair loss for a few years now, but not really connected it to the drops

Yes my eyelashes have thickened which is nice. But the area around my eyes including lids has darkened. Not so good as I look extra tired. Again a side effect.

I don't think I have ever had a medication which caused so many of the listed side effects. Ganfort is the only medication I currently take. Until I start osteoporosis treatment soon.
Thank you for your replies. I think when I go for my next appt I will ask to change if possible.

I have been using Ganfort for over 4 years. Prior to that was on latanaprost. No hair loss but my eyelashes have become thick which I was told was a side effect. I do suffer from poor sleep (been awake since 2am this morning), I don’t associate it with the eye drops as it has only been the past year or so.

I have glaucoma and have been using Lantanoprost drops since April, with few side effects, other than those listed on the enclosed sheet. (Slight soreness) Certainly nothing as unpleasant as you describe!

Your vivid dreams and hair loss sound horrid so I hope your consultant will be sympathetic to changing your prescription. 👁👁

I have been on Ganfort for about 5 months. Prior to Ganfort I had been using Timoptol drops for about 20 years.
Recently my eye pressures increased and I had an iridotomy which the consultant says has worked, but has kept me on Ganfort. Next appt with the hospital in 9 months time.

Anyone on these drops suffers from sleeplessness and vivid dreams? I am awake pretty much every night from 2.00 onwards and rarely get back to sleep.
A side effect according to their information sheet is nightmares. I don't have nightmares as such just very vivid intricate dreams which I remember in detail when I wake up.

Another side effect is hair loss. I have thick hair, but notice more often now loose hairs floating onto my shoulders and in my comb and brush. Ganfort is supposed to be more effective at keeping pressure down than Timoptol, but the sleeplessness is getting to me now and I would like to change back. Any Glaucoma sufferers out there...and awake?
