Last appt with specialist/consultant involved physical examination.. as have had lots of physio sessions over the years, due to lumbar spinal pain and both hips need replacing-expected the follow up exam would be similar..
Wow the consultant literally twsisted me in many positions that I hadn’t been in before.. (except when had active sex lifestyle) was surprised at level of manipulation of both limbs and embarrassed.. has anyone else had similar experience with physical examination of hips… was quite embarrassed 😳

I underwent this twice having had back surgery and two hip replacements. I knew they would want to test my range of movement and pain levels, I wore appropriate clothing and wasn’t the least embarrassed. It’s what was expected and needed before surgery was scheduled. I’m sorry you found it embarrassing.

Were you wearing a skirt/ dress Bea?

I had this prior to both hip replacements, but was prepared the second time. Both times were painful and my hips took days to return to their normal level of pain!

No I wore jeggings so was appropriately dressed- what I didn’t say in the first paragraph was, I had wind which I couldn’t control when being twisted about and mortified 🤒

Definitely appropriately dressed , unlike me once, in a dress not expecting an examination but that’s another story.
Wind is normal but understand your mortification. grin

Bea65 Don't worry about wind, doctors will have encountered every single bodily function possible whilst training and wind will be one of the least problematic ones. I hope you get your hips sorted.
