NHS appp not showing test results and appointments etc since beginning of year.

Not sure if I should post here or on technology. Has anyone else had this problem since beginning of January? Before this all test results, appointments for surgery and hospital were on.
However, nothing since beginning of year. No test results, no appointments shown and surgery seemed mystified.Someone from surgery rang this morning and said settings were all correct and she was going to ring back in half an hour. That didn’t happen. My test results are really important to me as I need to assess important things such as platelets which are high and sodium levels as well as anaemia. I am trying so hard to raise sodium levels and platelets are a real concern. No longer do I wish to be told over the phone that “it’s alright. Just had a phone call from surgery who haven’t been able to sort it out but is going to pass it on to admin who may be able wipe my file and reinstate it. Just wondering does the New Year cause problems? Anyone else?

Maybe some surgeries are not prepared or able to finance the data-input staff/time? We do have a legal right to see our medical records…

Right from the off I have. Found the NHS App & Patients Know Best very hit & miss. Neither can be relied upon for accuracy and requests for updating omissions fall on deaf ears. Can’t help feeling that all this technology is not helping.

I had a notification from the surgery a few days ago saying that the NHS app no longer works on phones running an older operating system.

Hello Stansgran and others who may be having trouble with the NHS app. In my last post I mentioned that I had to fill in a form requesting ‘advanced access’ from my surgery to see all of my records. The doc had to sign for me to have access to a section called ‘GP Health Records’. Previously I had only been able to see appointments and repeat medications. The full info appeared a few days later. It also showed all existing documents, eg. Tests, letters,etc.
For some problems it might be useful to delete the app and then re download it from scratch (via Google or App Store) if it’s playing up and then phone the surgery to find out how you get this full access. I think the surgery keeps it updated and it sounds as if some surgeries have got behind with this? If you contact them they might jump for you!

I don’t remember installing an app but I got a terse email saying as I hadn’t used it they were deleting it. I think they need to give their heads a wobble as I’ve have this last week information that I have an appointment in January which I know because I was there and another in September which I know because I made it . Then I made an appointment with the audiology department on line which they cancelled with two A4 sheets of paper and envelope and a confirmation of said appointment with forms to fill in also by post and then a suggestion I make an appointment for an ent clinic giving me a selection of five hospitals none of which have appointments available not even for the 17 weeks waiting which they it will take. All this in the same post. All dated 11th 12 th 13 th Feb but arriving on St Valentine’s Day . Don’t know if the app would have helped.

I installed the app a couple of years ago and can see very little, my prescriptions only really and details of messages that they've sent me about covid and flu injections. I've had phone appointments since 2020 and haven't seen my GP since 2018/9.
No details of my OA and the 2 THR that I've had done privately although the surgery has been kept up to date.
Under allergies it says '0' although I do have allergies that my surgery knows about!

Here in Devon we use 2 Apps. the NHS and 'My Care' My Care is instant and has everything on it the minute is has happened. NHS a bit slower.

Well saw a don’t reply email from my surgery this morning. It said we have changed your account details and to look into my app. I did this and my recent tests had come up. Not my appointments which used to be there but hopefully tests will continue to come through. Thank you for all your suggestions and experiences.

I used to be able to make, cancel or re-schedule appointments online (on my PC), just by logging in and giving my surgery's ID. Nothing else, though - no access to my records, test results, etc. Something clearly changed a couple of years ago and now I can't even log in - nor can I re-register because apparently I don't have the right kind of mobile phone! I imagine the NHS outsourced this section of their IT services and the contract was won by a younger person who can't even get out of bed without his mobile giving him a signal to do so.....

I joined a new GP in Oct, having moved to a new area.
So far Ive had 2 appts, both with different nurses, both in relation to my Hearing Aids and my ears needing syringing.

Looking on my GP NHS record of these appointments - against one entry it says I was seen for Hypertension (which I've never had) - the other entry says I had a respiratory vaccination given !

I suspect my appts were added into an already established clinic but both nurses should have overridden the screen and freetyped why I was actually there.

I will be raising it with the surgery.

Get nothing on my app since I moved & changed Doctors! Told to go to the Surgery where one of the Receptionists will help me sort it as it needs information from the Surgery that I cannot have! So waiting for Spring to arrive so that I can walk to Doctors without either freezing or getting soaked. One day maybe🤔

Have you tried registering with Patients Know Best? This has been invaluable for me over the past couple of years for delivering blood test results often on the same day. It's somehow linked to the NHS app but seems it might be ahead of it now.

My surgery uses Addenbrookes Hospital for testing blood. I have an app called "My Chart", which uploads the results as soon as they're known. I don't know whether other hospitals/GPs uses the same system. they're uploaded from there to the NHS app automatically.

Yes, the GP surgery does have to decide if you can have full access. I think they also have to consider whether anybody else could force you to give information against your will (eg if you've had a termination of pregnancy, but don't want a bullying partner to know).

My records go back to my birth in 1955.

have you tried updating the app? i'm 99% sure that i had to a few months ago.
i can check back as far as the 70s on my app - useful when you need to find out when you had what.

Maybe I’m wrong but I think it is the GP surgery that has to update information on the App. In my case that rarely happens and my data is completely out of date.

I think the data comes from a number of sources. For example, I've usually had vaccinations done at my local pharmacy and I've noticed that the NHS App is updated immediately. All blood test results go through a local hospital and appear instantly on the NHS App (before the GP has even had time to review them).

I was furious as I stopped smoking 20 years ago on 1st Feb! I said I wanted that removed because it was false information and also if there was any sort of insurance claim and they contacted our surgery they would tell them I was a smoker and it could cancel my claim. They did remove it.

I don't currently have any problems with my records. However, as you did, it's worth going back through your records and correcting them. I found a couple of errors, sent a letter to the practice manager, and they were corrected promptly. The issue is that inaccurate information can skew data. If, for example, you have never smoked or never been overweight and the records say you have, the data will not acknowledge the number of people who have medical conditions without known risk factors. It's the same with not taking prescribed medication without informing your doctor.

NHS App has ditched me altogether! Got emails to say I was no longer manager of account and to visit surgery. Did so. They haven’t sorted to remedy. Your post has reminded me to get back on to them!
