I sympathise. I don't recall ever having flu before but one night about a month ago I woke up around 3.00 a.m. and knew there was something horribly wrong. I felt dreadful. I toyed with the idea of calling for an ambulance, but told myself to just hang on till daybreak. I was then able to call my DD to come. She insisted I call the Dr.
I am reluctant to call the surgery and said oh you'll be number 30 in a queue! She got through right away and I had an appointment that afternoon. I was stunned! Long story short, you have to be careful that it doesn't worsen into pneumonia. It had settled on my chest and that's why they saw me so quickly, fortunately I'd had the pneumonia vaccine a few years ago. It took two rounds of antibiotics to clear up though. My advice is if you experience difficulty breathing and you're coughing up ghastly stuff, call the Dr. Perhaps you will need something to help you fight it.
Bed rest and nourishing soups when you feel you can take food. Sleep when you need to and no housework! That's the good bit! Hope you pick up soon.
