Anyone tried glucosamine for arthritis pain and does it work?

There are certain risks associated with taking glucosamine.

I took it when I was younger, whether or not it worked I don't know, but think I'll give it a miss now as my DM had glaucoma and there are concerns it could exacerbate the risk of developing that.

I bet there was a premium on his glucosamine V3ra but hope it helped.

Actually no, the vet didn't sell them to me herself, just said to get some from wherever I liked!

I've ordered the Flexi-Joints for dogs, from Healthspan.
He has one a day, crushed and mixed with a drop of gravy 😋

They're all snake oil imo.
If they worked then they'd be on prescription .
Companies like health span make millions from desperate people. My mother used to take all sorts of things from glucosamine to cider vinegar. Never made a difference.
I have OA and RA and at first I used to try all these things. Even went gluten free for a while after someone swore it was the answer . None of it works.
The drugs I get from my rheumatologist however, they work.

Sorry about your arthritis but I’m glad you’ve found a drug that helps.
So far, only steroid injections and short term Naproxen have worked for me.

There’s always something new to try for arthritis.
I got this one in my health course feed this morning. I’ve not heard of the yoghurt cure before, but I’m hoping someone else will try it because I’m not a yoghurt fan.

I've taken it with Chrondotin and MSM for years, if I give it a break, my joint pains begin to ache and I can definitelytell the difference. Compared to my friends I am a very active 77 year old. I also practice yoga. No arthritis at all except an ache in my thumb joint occasionally. I think it really works for me.

I think it worked for me for years but now time has caught up with me and my knees are getting worse.

My consultant rheumatologist advised me against supplements. She said if they worked, she’d prescribe them. In addition, she was concerned they were another thing for kidneys to process

I’ve been impressed by the level of personal connection she has with patients as well as her top clinical knowledge
