I haven’t got any tonsils☺️

They'll go eventually anyway - probably before they cause you any problems. I've had them many times & never tried to remove them - it's not as though they're on show...

They’re not on show……..but they stink!
Before I had my tonsils out I used to use a very slim long spoon, rather like the latte spoons in Costa. I know it sounds gross but it was the only way I could cope with the foul breath and dreadful feeling of having something stuck in the back of my throat!

I know one person,
who had tonsil stones and her breath was really bad because food got trapped under them .
Her tonsils caused her to have so many problems that she had them removed in
her mid twenties .
The ENT consultant described them as reservoirs of infection .
And she had sepsis after their removal , which is unusual .

You aren't supposed to poke them in case you make your tonsils bleed .
Gargling with apple cider vinegar is said to be helpful -better than salt water .
And using a water flosser can dislodge them .
They can be lazered .
Usually they don't cause the problems that my friend had ,but you don't want to have halitosis !

I sometimes get them, not so often nowadays. They do stink, absolutely vile. Mine can be painful so I want rid of them asap! I somehow manage with cotton wool buds, gently pressing to the side to sort of pop them out. It might take a couple of separate attempts. Using a torch and mirror is useful to get to the target.

Even talking about them makes me want to heave. 🤢

I am meticulours with cleaning and flossing so it isng a lack of dental hygiene. I have found gargling helps and strangely drinking fizzy pop can help flush the bits out..

As a teenager I had repeated bouts of tonsillitis and those horrible cream coloured stones. Had my tonsils out aged 15 , never had a sore throat since! I know a tonsillectomy is not often carried out now. Fail to understand why not ! It made a huge difference to my health . I understand there must be a sound reason for not removing tonsils,- perhaps some one can enlighten me ?

I had terrible trouble with my throat as a child I also had Quincey when I had my tonsils removed at 32 the surgeon asked me following the op if I’d ever had Quincey as there was a branch of it still there from childhood.

I had tonsil stones for the first time about 5 years ago when I started using only an electric toothbrush. Although my actual teeth felt lovely, I though general oral hygiene worsened. The electric toothbrush didn't clean my gums, cheeks and tongue anywhere near as good as a normal toothbrush. After about 9 months I gave up on electric toothbrush and the tonsils stones cleared up.

It made a lot of difference to my health too, I was 6 or 7 when I had mine out. Previously I'd had a lot of time off school with what they called "tonsilitis" but I guess would be called something different today.

Was definitely still at primary school, possibly 8/9 when I had tonsils and adenoids out. Can't recall last tine I had a sore throat. If tonsils are causing a lot if bother eg embarrassment, think I'd be hounding GP for referral to have them removed.

I remember my Late Mum thought she had a Stone or something in her tonsil, a White blob.... It was uncomfortable but didn't hurt... She put up with it a few days, eventually she gave it a prod somehow? to discover it was a bit of a Peanut.

You can get a sort of syringe especially for tonsil stones. I think I used Amazon? Mine went away when I stopped having porridge for breakfast - strange but true, lol!
