I recently moved house and of course helped move lighter boxes and sorting stuff, had few niggles in my back but carried on regardless as you do. I took Naproxen I already had it at home it did deal with the growing pain but suddenly my pain exploded into my groin and front of my leg, I'd never experienced pain like it and Ive had sciatica many times before but this was a whole new level of pain. Long story short taken to hospital in an ambulance while i had to clench my teeth to stop me crying out, lots of tests xrays etc finally morphine for the pain it was decided it was sciatica but in groin and front leg unusually. Who knew? Home after 30hrs with pain relief and I'm confined to upstairs for now not safe going up stairs i have a frame as leg keeps giving way. I hadn't even registered with GP so that has to be done to arrange physio. Now i can't even start unpacking but thank god for my daughter and Grandsons who are keeping me fed and cheerful. Sorry now I've written a saga feel free to ignore me.

At least it was not “she” Tanith which I was always reminded was the cat’s mother.
Joking apart I hope the surgery will allow that.
This is no time to be without medical support locally.

Thanks Usedtobeblond it was all done very easily I included the discharge letter so they get an idea what’s going on. I will make a telephone app as soon as I am able to ask for physio referral. Still no improvement though I’m just grateful my pain is now controlled and tolerable.

I've had sciatica (although not at the front as you describe OP) and, just like Aldom, I could only crawl. And even that was sheer agony. It went on like that for 3 months. I hope you feel better soon and settle nicely into your new home OP.

I found cold compresses, pain killers, exercises, Pilates and treatment from a chiropractor helped. Sciatica truly is the worst pain, worse than childbirth and broken bones. Huge sympathy to anyone currently suffering.
