Welcome LaCrepesule . So nice to have you with us. I,m the oldest here and have had many traumas in my life and I had health anxiety too for many years. Never taken ADs until a few years ago and the difference for me has been fantastic. I will take them forever rather than be how I was.My children said they had got their Mum back.Its early days for you but you must miss your daughter very much. Good that she’s not far away and you can see her. Well done for staying sober for 2 years - so hard to break an addiction. Glad you have a little dog for company and walks - pets are so important to us aren’t they. DH and I have just got 2 rescue cats and they have brought fluffy life into our house again. Please come and chat to us - we are a kind and caring bunchxxx

Thank you Howverydareyou for making me so welcome. Daughter is only an hour away and I'm visiting her tomorrow. I'm part of a closeknit community and also volunteer. Just got back from a nice dog walk and interactions with other dog owners which always makes me feel better.
Like you I’ve been on antidepressants for years and I’m not sure if they do anything now!
Is your husband supportive? Hope so.

ScaredyCat I haven't decided on a gift experience for the couples yet. Son1 and his GF will probably like a meal or brewery tour. Son1 likes adrenaline activities, but DIL doesn't. I might get a spa day (which they enjoyed before).
Wyllow3 Glad you got your mobile back ok. We're lost without them. They're doing flu jabs a bit late, aren't they? I had mine done in Sept.
LaCrepescule Hello. I'm 66, have been on antidepressants for many years, have social anxiety. Live with my husband. Well done on being sober all this time. Has your daughter moved far? I think the dark evenings are difficult. Are there any groups (for hobbies) you could join? Some on here enjoy going to church (not me). Is that something you'd like?

LG here today. She's talking more now . Playgroup soo, then I've got a hospital appt about my lungs this afternoon. 1.5 stone off now. Not bad, in just over 5 weeks. Hope everyone has a decent day x

LaCrepescule you really are most welcome here. You've probably read back a bit, and see the variety, it's OK to just write about you as well as some regulars with a sort of ongoing conversation. We will understand and don't judge.

It is tough living alone, with Mental Health issues, we have a mixture so you will be understood.

Better out than in as regards speaking out although we understand some can only come in now and then. Its not just living alone either, it can be living with someone and deeply unhappy (and everything in between) We'll get to know you over time, if that works out for you.

I feel better after yesterday, and am going to try and slow down on the making things happen front, there is the matter of getting Restorative Justice but will try and get Victims support to do the hassling for me.

Hello everyone, I’m new here. I’m 68 with a long-standing diagnosis of generalised anxiety disorder. I also have severe health anxiety. I’m a recovering alcoholic (sober over two years) and stopping drinking really helped with my mental health.
Recently however I’ve been feeling very low and my health anxiety has been awful. My 25 year old daughter recently moved out after being with me for 3 months following a break-up and I feel really alone, despite having good friends and a lovely little dog.
I really just wanted to touch base and find a community of older women you might understand 🙏

It was my sis who found the right word for "why the depth of distress". It's because it made me feel spiritually disoriented..as in all that was good and true, safe, etc, shattered by this man, as I am very strong on loyalty. Others pinpointed something like this, this afternoon, too.

And the caretaker has found my phone.

Glad you enjoyed your meeting and y our elderly friend would have been grateful for his lift . There should be a caretaker for your building or a cleaner who could perhaps open up to retrieve your phone. Hope the yoga brought some peaceful relaxation. Here’s another hug- it’s a bit hairy as Kai is plonked on me.

thank you both, and especially for stopping mid being busy, Sweetpeasue. I've landed up at the gym after what was...eventually..... as there was a business meeting first, a loving and helpful little meeting, with very elderly J in fact joining in and I gave him a lift home. I needed to be vulnerable, not angry. (and explain articulate doesnt mean well).

I've left my mobile at the meeting house, DUH but hardly surprising. fortunately I have a landline at home but the building its on isnt regular used... what a muddle...I'm going to do some yoga first though, something 'normal'.

but I was so happy and confident yesterday that today will bring some relief from feeling sort of estranged from Quakers by me writing the impact and why it was so strong on me (history of Ex, depression etc, that MrA knew) and asking for warmth...maybe it was that, maybe a delayed shock at seeing Ex (probably both)

Evening all. Been out at a garden centre for lunch today. Lunch was nice but it was so bitterly cold I got quite chilled. Glad to get home in the end.

Just wanted to wish BD's caught up in car troubles get them sorted asap. We cant be doing with car issues with everyone else going on, Sweetpeasue and Ellie Anne - getting decent drivable second hand ones with a guarantee has to be a good move if mired down with the current one.

I'd clean forgotten when I posted earlier - had a bit of a shock becuase as I turned into the gym in the car who should I see for the first time since January 2023 but...Ex.
He looked sad but OK, not overweight as he was grossly when last seen..he must have seen me too, just that flash by. it made me want to say, lets sit down and value what was good but that aint likely to happen unless he contacts me. ScaredyCat We've been to a few parts of Croatia, but not Zadar. Son2 and family went there last year and told us about the sea organ. It sounds very interesting. We're going on our actual anniversary, May 10th. We loved Sheringham - it was like going back in time, when everywhere was very typically English. How's your day been today? I don't seem to have achieved much, but have spent time online.

Wyllow- oh you have much to look forward to next year- yes look forward and shut that door on depression - so glad you have such good support. The closure you need will come eventually - don’t concentrate or push too hard - it will happen.
You have much to offer as a volunteer as long as you don’t neglect yourself.
Your fitness is certainly coming back- great for next years adventures. I like the sound of your Bucket List.
SweetPeaSue- I do hope you get somewhere wit( your phone calls on Monday. You can’t emphasise enough to the people concerned the devastating effect this is having on you and your DH.
I do like your new tree - it’s so pretty and must have been much easier to put up.
You could do without car problems. No point really in keeping paying out and flogging what sounds to be a bit of a dead horse. I hope it’s possible for you to get a new one - although hopefully yours will be OK until you feel like doing that.
Doodle- you’re right about your holidays. Special times and special memories. I feel the same way- my children cherish the memories of holidays when they were little.
Glad you will see both your Sons over Christmas. Will the GC be there too? We are spending Christmas Day with GD1 and family and DD and SiL and GD3. Boxing Day with DD etc.
Hopefully GD2 and family will be able to visit sometime in the holidays. They live a way away.
EllieAnne- hope you can get your car sorted too and manage to fight your way through the paperwork .
HVDY- Zadar is really nice - we have visited there twice on cruises. They have a wonderful Sea Organ there.
This Summer we stayed near Sheringham - a very loved place from my childhood. It’s a nice old fashioned area and hasn’t changed at all.

My favourite is "Pretty Vacant" by The Sex Pistols. I can remember going to a posh club in Nottingham, with my brother (10 years older - he's no longer with us), where everyone was dancing to some middle-of-the-road stuff. I asked the DJ for that track, and the 2 of us started dancing. Everyone else sat down . I was about 17. No idea where they are all buried (apart from Mr Cooper), as I didn't leave any type of marker.

Great gym sesh, but my afternoon plans changing. I'm sitting Costa, had plans for a warm congenial afternoon in here, but the gym has dun me in. I did run for 8 minutes, my knees are getting better, but mostly yoga and weights.

Son1, DIL and GD1 arrived, looking sad - one of the 4 pet rats had died and they wanted to bury it in our garden (we've got 3 cats, a rat, 1 rabbit, and several gerbils already out there). Oh dear. They stayed about 90 minutes. I've done a bit more online Christmas shopping, whilst listening to punk music through the headphones. Hope everyone is ok x

Wyllow3 I'm glad you're going to try to relax a bit. The Mr A assault has consumed you for some time. You had been doing so very well - going to the gym, Costa, on bike rides (it's not really the weather for being on a bike atm), and generally chatting with people. Don't let that man stop you doing all that.

It's grey and raining here. Son1 said he and the children will be here "some time" today. (I dislike these vague terms), so I'd better go and get ready. Back later x
