Can't help with the problems you have, but the sigmoidoscopy I had this year was no problem at all. I didnt have sedation as I am caring for my DH and have no one to look after me.
The staff were very kind. I was offered the enema to do at home beforehand, but asked for it to be done in the unit. Which is what I had. A bit undignified....but who cares.
There was onr little bit of the oscopy which was a bit painful and I could have had gas and air, but it was all over so quickly and soon back in a "ward" and having the best cup of tea and biscuits ever. I had dreaded the whole thing, but honestly it was OK. Ask for sedation which could help you in view of your conditions. I didnt because I wantednto be back home quickly and sedation recovery takes longer.
I was given the written results at the time and was soon home. I had a cab each way but without sedation I could have driven. Good luck with the oscopy and with your condition.
