Its supporting those of us who wish to talk about our mental health problems quite deeply at times: and share aspects of our lives supportively, give and take support.

All are welcome: don't be put off by some of us being there long term, people do come and go.

Scaredycat it makes me laugh when you talk about your grandchildren brining their children round. You always sound so youthful and upbeat I think of you as a much younger person, 😊. Ah that’s funny about the rag dolls,
Nice of you to help your friend out by taking her to the hospital. I bet she’s pleased to have company.
Oh Wyllow poor you. I wonder where you are now. I hope you’re much more comfortable and gettting proper treatment.
Hope the pain is under control too.
O dear Sweetpeasue some good news at last., Wonderful to have a doctor who listens. Glad you got seen and now your Dh has an appointment. That is good news.
HvDY I got offered a telephone physio appointment today. I said it was the first appointment and I’d have a job explaining to the physio where my pain was if she couldn’t see me so I asked for a face to face. another two weeks but that’s ok.
Made me laugh when you mentioned your mums Beatles LPs. The Beatles first album was bought for me by my cousin when it came out. My first LP record.
Went to art today but didn’t enjoy it. Got covered in charcoal and the result was far from good.

Wyllow3 Waiting in A&E is never good, and I hope you weren't sitting there for ages. I hope you're either in a ward there to be looked after or at home with some effective medication.

ScaredyCat I got bit earlier. It's rained non-stop since about noon. How is a telephone assessment of any use for a physical problem? Madness.

SweetpeaSue Thank goodness someone is listening and paying attention to you and your husband. That lady is on the ball. I hope the steroid injection will help him - the pain often gets worse for a couple of days after one, then gets better. I might ask for one in my shoulder (after the partial tear caused by the muppets at Coventry hospital). I had one 4 years ago, but the shoulder is stiff and painful. We've got lots of LPs (mostly all my mum's Beatles ones) which we'll never play. Might get rid of them some time.

Hope everyone else has been ok today. It was lasagne and salad then jam sponge and custard, at the day centre. SIL has got some other infection and is having yet more antibiotics. She'' be in hospital for a few more days yet. x

Sweetpeasue Thu 15-Jan-26 16:59:14

Wyllow Hope youve been seen by now and you can get home soon and rest.
Scaredycat Your posts always make me smile. I love your expressions - Ive never heard of. 'raining stair rods' although DH has.Oh dear ,hope you weren't a drowned Scaredycat .

We had F2F appt ( DH was quizzed but stuck out for one). Strange thing was , a nurse telephoned him last night with an appt for RACPC - for next week.
We needed to clarify a LOT though and DH needed some answers about his arm/hand pain. She was so nice and looked at his arm and hand. She thinks part of pain could be arthritis ( especially elbow). If steroid injection in shoulder by Rheumatologist on Monday doesnt help he's to try codeine.
She said it was obvious hed had Subclavian Steal and we shouldn't have had to go private. She'd also emailed Cardiology straight away after they had said he didnt have angina and attached the Cardiologist's last letter to GP- hence last night's phone call. It was so good to be listened to and DH broke down at the end -she was lovely.

Sorted out some stuff we didnt want anymore and taken some vinyl records to a shop where hes looking at them. Dont expect most of them will be worth anything. We have had a fair clean out .

Hope everyone is ok , or at least as well as can be. Thoughts with Wyllow too.

Scaredycat Thu 15-Jan-26 11:57:05

I spoke too soon 😩 It’s started again😩

Scaredycat Thu 15-Jan-26 11:55:36

Morning all
Wyllow- so sorry to hear of you having to go to Hospital. A and E is one of the most stressful situations at the moment. I hope you get moved to a comfortable hospital where they take good care of you. Sending a big warm hug and thinking of you.
SweetPeaSue- yes it’s ludicrous that what used to be a FTF appt every year and physical examination has been a phone call since everything went down the pan. I hope you are not having too frustrating a morning. 🤞

We,re taking our friend to have her after chemo appt this afternoon- thank goodness it’s stopped raining it was coming down in stair rods.
Love to all BDs.

Sweetpeasue Thu 15-Jan-26 10:38:14

Oh Wyllow you poor soul! Its the pits waiting in A&E when you feel so poorly. Just as well you rang 111 and you will surely be treated appropriately now. So you're waiting to be moved to another hospital- they must be very full there.
Sending love and a hug .xx

Wyllow3 Thu 15-Jan-26 09:58:32

Well it didn’t, at 4.30 rung 111 and ended up there in an and e. It’s quiet but waiting in a chair for moving for another hospital. But am Zonked out.

Sweetpeasue Wed 14-Jan-26 22:26:28

Scaredycat Telephone consultations are not great , especially if you want to have input about your DHs condition and want to be included.
Wyllow Just hoping the pain and wheezing will soon go. X

Scaredycat Wed 14-Jan-26 21:57:24

Evening all
Sorry I haven’t posted today. Went with DH this morning for his blood tests. His annual thyroid cancer check is next month. It’s a telephone consultation - for his neck!! He hasn’t had a FTF one since Covid- ludicrous. Then did a bit of shopping and this afternoon GD1 brought the kids round after school. Very tired again- I miss the old me.
Wyllow- hope you feel better soon- that’s a horrible virus you have. Yes some nice soup should feel soothing.
HVDY-you earned your lazy day after all that work the day before. I hope your SiL blood tests don’t throw up anything serious. She has enough to contend with.
Doodle- glad you feel better today- such a shame your back is so painful- old age sucks. Ragdolls are called that because when you pick them up they go all floppy like a dolly.
SweetPeaSue- glad you went to Book club. So good to get out and do something different. Also being with your friends there hopefully distracts your poor worried head. Hope tomorrow goes well.
Love to all you dear friends and those who haven’t been in lately

Wyllow3 Wed 14-Jan-26 20:19:38

Just taken some more tramdol as the pain is8. 5/10 and totally wheezing each time I breathe. Doodle
But I slept twice Morning and After noon. But I ll check, AM, in with mediation people by Zoom, yes I just need some soups. Cleaner on Friday?

I hope your back will ease tomorrow, more, Doodle
and all fingers you get an informative DoC, Sweetpeasue

and that you get to see SiL, HVDY.

Doodle Wed 14-Jan-26 18:26:05

Evening all. Feel a bit better tonight but my back still hurts. Probably old age.
HVDY sorry to hear about your SIl. Funny how family’s sometimes don’t keep in touch. I haven’t heard from my nephew in 20 months. He used to keep in touch regularly. I suppose I could phone him but I’m a bit cross with him.
Sweetpeasue going to reading group is good. Mixing with others. Not so good if you don’t like the chosen book. I’ve never been part of a book club. My memory is so bad I can’t remember the plot. Hope you enjoyed it.
nadateturbe how are you doing today?
Wyllow sorry you’re on the tramadol. It wipes me out completely. Hope the pain eases and you can stop it soon.
Scaredycat is Ragdoll the official name for the cats. I’ve never heard of it before. All I know is they seem to have come into your life and made you happy and you in turn them. Can’t be bad.

Sweetpeasue Wed 14-Jan-26 18:15:35

HVDY I hope your SIL can recognise the one sister that has stayed in touch and your SIL is well enough for a decent visit.
Yes, it did help a bit getting out. Only 5 of us there at Reading group.
Hoping to get appt with GP tomorrow to sort things out with DHs RACPC appt.
Doodle Hope your back pain has eased today.

HowVeryDareYou2 Wed 14-Jan-26 12:27:25

Wyllow3 The last time I had antibiotics (I've just looked at my NHS App as I'd forgotten) was September, for a UTI. I suppose soups, sandwiches, perhaps pasta(?) would be good, for something quick and easy for lunches. I hope you start to feel better soon.

Doodle Hope your back is a bit easier today.
SweetpeaSue It might do you good to get out and have others to chat to.

Lazy day today. I might do some ironing. SIL has apparently deteriorated, so I am waiting to see what some blood tests reveal. Her sister (she had 6 of them and 4 brothers, but of the remaining siblings, only 1 sister keeps in touch) from Warminster is coming today.

Sweetpeasue Wed 14-Jan-26 12:04:47

Thanks all. Slept a little better ( DH snoring a lot).
Glad having sis there for you helped Wyllow Rest and keep up the antibiotics.
Ist Reading Group of the yr today. Going even though dont feel like it. Tomorrow is when GP is on.

nadateturbe Wed 14-Jan-26 10:01:25

Yes, knowing someone is there is enough Wyllow3.
Did you get some sleep Sweetpeasue?
Back later.

Wyllow3 Wed 14-Jan-26 09:07:23

And Sweetpeasue hope you get through to the GP today to sort out the confusion.

Wyllow3 Wed 14-Jan-26 08:45:15

That was overdoing it a bit, Doodle, I hope you are just tired today. But a big well done helping the friend. She must have been so relieved when more sorted-out.
Thank you nadateturbe

Did you sleep, Sweetpeasue?

I didn't need to ring sis, probably cos I could, if you get my drift. But my brain is zoned out on Tramadol.

HVDY you had a long session on anti'b's not so long ago, I remember you did not want to eat, I don't either, need some soups in, or something, was yours a tummy bug?

nadateturbe Tue 13-Jan-26 23:00:52

Oh dear, think you've overdone it Doodle. Some painkillers maybe needed.
I do hope tonight is better for you Sweetpeasue. It's hard to function with no sleep.
And you too Wyllow3. Don't forget your sister is there.
Goodnight also to Scaredycat EllieAnne and HVDY and anyone else reading.
Hoping and praying for a peaceful night for everyone . xx

Wyllow3 Tue 13-Jan-26 21:12:06

Good sleeps for all BD's!

Sweetpeasue Tue 13-Jan-26 21:08:21

Night* Doodle*and all.
Hope you sleep better tonight * Wyllow*x

Doodle Tue 13-Jan-26 19:55:32

Sorry all can’t write much tonight. I went to sit fit this morning for the first time in four weeks., had an energetic workout the. Spent the afternoon helping a friend tidy and get rid of paperwork. My back is really painful and I’m so tired,. Catch up with all tomorrow. Sleep well all.

Wyllow3 Tue 13-Jan-26 18:37:00

Oh dear, Sweetpeasue -last night must have been grim xx

Sweetpeasue Tue 13-Jan-26 18:33:33

Oh Wyllow that's dreadful of the pharmacy not to call you and at least say they were there. Must have been soul destroying, watching the time going by and wondering when the antibiotics were going to arrive.
I think all the stress and hassle with the Mr A thing and the unsupportive Quaker will have dragged you down -- all you needed was this awful illness on top of it.
Do hope the antibiotics get into your system quickly . Coughing is always worse at night because of being laid flat.
So glad you had the MH number to call.
Just sending a hug and stay warm.

Hope everyone is ok . Very tired tonight as didnt sleep at all last night. Take care everyone and hope all have a peaceful night.

Wyllow3 Tue 13-Jan-26 18:04:00

The psychologist did have any direct advice today but she is now totally in the picture as regards current and future events.

But today I've been in agony and worse coughing when I tried to lie down. And terrified about tonight,

but dear doc sis was "ring any time in the night" when I called her...

I was sick too. Nice GP, mind, later, so if I ring the surgery there will be good notes....he was really on top of the MH side. Bless him...

I think your brother is incapable of coping, HVDY. I am most impressed with your day today, yes take it easy tomorrow.

Scaredycat - so sad to hear that your dear friend is going through and aggressive stage. Understanding doesn't make it less sad... I hope it resolves in to a state a bit more like HVDYs SiL. I'll try to post in the night not withdraw.
