Aching legs and feet

Over the last few months I have seen posters saying they have either aching legs and feet or both.
For the last 2 years I have been using our stairs 100x more than normal as DH is bedbound. I also had chemo 4 years ago.
My legs felt a little ache after the chemo but I was told by a rather indifferent neurologist it wasn't peripheral neuropathy.

Since November time I have had tingling and aching shins, calves, thighs and ankles. Which all make walking rather uncomfortable. I am wondering if it is the result of overuse and am trying to cut down the up and down stairs as much as is possible.

I would be pleased to hear what other GNs reasons are for achey legs and feet and what they find helps.

HelterSkelter1 I haven't read the whole thread. Has anyone mentioned B12? Ask for a blood test...

After punishing radio therapy and chemotherapy peripheral neuropathy was awful in my feet. However acupuncture has helped enormously.

Would it be possible to set up a tray, with kettle & other drink-making essentials, upstairs somewhere? That should hopefully save you a few trips up & down the stairs. Similarly, a coolbox with cold drinks & snacks which you replenish just once daily.

Have a look at Will Harlow on YouTube.
He is a physiotherapist who does many useful videos showing exercises for the over 60s.

Maybe getting a stair lift might help you with the stairs

Thats what I thought.

No need to use it each time, just when you are tired out.

Good long term planning, too. Nice fold up one so you know you can cope with the stairs whenever necessary. (I dont need one at all atm but have measured up to check I could if necessary. its not "giving up" just positive future planning.
