Adrenal Hyperplasia Left side

My searches have shown that Hyperplasia can be benign or malignant depending on the type of Hyperplasia.
I can do nothing until my consultant appointment in mid April.
I had a conversation with my dh this evening. The condition hadn't meant much to him. He has his own serious medical issues and I didn't want to add to his own problems.
However he asked me about it this evening and so I told him of my worries. It has helped me that I have shared my feelings with him although it changes nothing.
My dh can put any health concerns into a box and let his doctor worry about them. On the other hand I research, research some more and have questions,
We will watch some tv and I'll try to switch off.

Thanks everyone who replied. I do understand that any treatment is likely to be for my lifetime and the thought that this is likely to be steroids (following previous experience) upsets me.
I am crossing bridges before I get to them and over thinking, as always.
I need to calm myself.

Coolgran
Everything I’ve read says non- malignant
I would imagine the consultant wants to discuss what it is and what your treatment will be as that will be for your lifetime.
If he talks to you in a way you don’t understand, say to him, please could you explain that ( because it is very complicated to a lay person) in words of one syllable.
I always went to appointments with my friend. I took notes because she was always so worried that not a word went in.
Just remember: it’s non- malignant. All will be well.

I know absolutely nothing about this, but like others would urge you to contact your GP to talk it through with him

I do wish you luck flowers

I'd ask to speak to my GP, to talk it through, because you need to talk to a Doc to find out more on you specifically, for example, would they have waited 6 months for anything that wasn't benign?
Home alone with Dr Google is good for some things but not this?

Sorry Coolgran - no idea what that is.
If it’s any help at all, you’ve had symptoms for 3 years. If it was anything nasty, it wouldn’t have been there for 3 years.
It’s probably a benign tumour.

Oh dear. Is there noone with any familiarity of Adrenal Gland Hyperplasia.

Following a 3 year wait, last September 2025, I eventually attended an appointment with a general surgeon concerning digestive/bowel issues. A colonoscopy, endoscopy and a CT Colon Scan were arranged and carried out. This month, 6 months later, I received a letter from the Surgeon containing results and an appointment letter.
A high result on one of the tests stated that a repeat should be carried out in 2 weeks. I find this delay concerning. Fortunately I do have an appointment arranged with the consultant for mid April.

However, I am really worried about something else. My CT Colon Scan has shown that I have a mildly enlarged left Adrenal Gland Hyperplasia and the consultant states in his letter that he will discuss the management of this at our upcoming appointment.

This was an unexpected find, found incidentally, and I am really worried. Knowing nothing about Adrenal Glands I of course resorted to Dr. Google which we all know is the way of madness. It would appear that Hyperplasia is a growth, enlargement, a tumor. The Adrenal Gland affects all sorts of vital hormones. What I have read regarding treatment has terrified me. I feel sick with worry.

This has come upon a terrible few years. Having never been in hospital apart from pregnancy at 76 I've been admitted twice in the last 3 years as an emergency when sciatic pain flared beyond being bearable. I continue to walk when possible with a rollater and have a
hospital bed at home.
I am feeling that I just cannot bear to be coping with something else serious on top of my unceasing sciatica pain which morphine doesn't help much.

Do any of you dear ladies have any experience of managing Adrenal Gland Hyperplasia.
I am sorry this post is so long but I didn't want to leave out anything that might be relevant.
Thank you for reading this far.
