....... wish me luck. This is the follow up from the ablation I had 6 weeks ago which has rendered me pacemaker dependent. The settings on the pacemaker have been seriously impacting on my quality of life and I am hoping they will tweak them for me and give me my life back - fingers crossed!

I would like to be able to eat breakfast without flaking out; to go for a walk; to have a shower without being wiped ........ I am hoping ......

Good luck with your appointment today Luckygirl3. I hope a little fine tuning will set you up to start feeling much better.

I’ll be thinking of you Luckygirl. A friend of mine had one of the first pacemakers and went on to live a very active life. Be prepared to fight your corner and never forget the power of tears when dealing with medics.

A friend had to have his fine tuned - very successful it was too.

Hope you come back to say the same😊

Lots of tweaking which I am hoping very much will do the trick. Fingers crossed. All slightly complicated by the fact that I have a hacking cough!

Shelflife Fri 10-Apr-26 18:26:58

Fingers crossed 🤞 for you Lucky girl.
Hope today's procedure will be successful.

merlotgran Fri 10-Apr-26 18:51:24

Aldom Fri 10-Apr-26 19:03:50

Hoping your cough won't keep you awake tonight Luckygirl and that the tweaking will improve life for you. 🤞🌷

Nandalot Fri 10-Apr-26 19:43:48

Keeping my fingers crossed for you too, *Luckygirl”. Had my pacemaker check today too and have 8 years of battery life left! Also told, after four and a half years, I am to going to get a monitor.

rafichagran Fri 10-Apr-26 19:57:46

Keeping my fingers crossed. I wish you well. Take care.

Luckygirl3 Fri 10-Apr-26 20:32:45

Thank you all.
I think this bug will delay the benefits of today's tweaking of the pacemaker, which is frustrating as I have waited 6 weeks for this. But it is hopefully a step in the right direction.

Jaxjacky Fri 10-Apr-26 20:59:10

🤞it’s done the job.

Aveline Sat 11-Apr-26 08:14:38

How are you feeling today Luckygirl13?

Luckygirl3 Sat 11-Apr-26 08:40:16

Thank you for asking. I have been awake coughing most of the night which is very frustrating, but heart is now at a regular sane speed so things are looking promising for improvements in quality of life once I shake off this cough.
I am going to eat some breakfast and see what happens .... it usually knocks me out completely as heart rate does not respond to higher need for circulation while digesting. So I will take the "breakfast test" and see what happens!

Whitewavemark2 Sat 11-Apr-26 08:41:26

🤞watching with best wishes.

teabagwoman Sat 11-Apr-26 09:19:47

🤞for you here too.

Aveline Sat 11-Apr-26 09:21:24

Good luck with the breakfast test. What a pest this cough is.
