I take 4 prescription tablets and 3 by choice, two at night.

My father used to be on a lot of tablets, about 7 a day. He was admitted to hospital because of heart trouble and the doctors halved the tablets prescribed by his GP. I have as and when tablets apart from H2 blockers which I take twice daily for acid reflux.

ExDancer Maybe a GP med review, not sure that codeine should be taken like that? 🤗

4 Prescription in the morning. 3 different vitamin tablets when I have my main meal, 1 prescription and a baby aspirin at bedtime. Gosh! That’s 9. Ah well, I’m still here!

No prescription drugs, I just take the occasional paracetamol for headaches or minor aches and pains.

4 in the morning, 2 at night. I sometimes wonder what would happen if I stopped taking them - I suspect I might feel better.

Have a look at British Supplements and type in stacks and have a read of the reviews. I gave up statins and as if by magic all my other problems disappeared. Statins are evil.

Not true.

Your last sentence, that is.

I’ve just recently started taking Vitamin D as it’s recommended for everyone and B12 because I’m vegetarian.
My sister takes lots of prescription drugs but also gets vitamins and eye drops on prescription. If doctors stopped prescribing over the counter products there would be more money to treat those on long waiting lists.

9 in the morning 11 at night then throw in painkillers

3 in the morning - 1 heart med, 1 blood thinner and 1 for under active thyroid. DH has just been diagnosed with glaucoma so as well as his BP meds and thyroxine I now have to put eye drops in twice a day for him.

Just one at night to reduce risk of heartburn. I used to take a 75mg aspirin each day, but since the war in Iran I find aspirins of any description very difficult to find.

Maybe a coincidence?

I'm surprised at the amount some Gransnetter's have to take. I'm not very good at taking tablets and have to have a drink with them, my OH amazes me that he can just swallow tablets dry.

We’re the other way round. 😊 I swallow tablets dry unless they’re the sort that have to be taken with water, DH can’t take his tiny tablets without gulping water and tossing his head back dramatically.

My routine is a vitamin tablet and a biotin tablet (non-prescription) in the morning, then a chewable calcium tablet at night.

6 in the morning 2 are non prescription .
5 in the evening 2 are non prescription .

I've stopped taking two of my tablets.
I kept being told my blood pressure was low, and i kept pointing out that at least 5 of my pills were for high blood pressure.

The gp gave me a monitor to use for two weeks, which i did, omitting one of the pills.
Blood pressure is ok now.
So, next was antidepressants.

Everytime i complained that i didnt feel well, up went the dose - "stress".
I've stopped those, too.
I actually had cirrhosis, not stress.

Yes, Jaxjacky. Familial high cholesterol is a genetic condition, not caused by diet. However, it only affects about one in 250+ patients with high cholesterol so diet, smoking or a sedentary lifestyle are commonly the cause.

1 or sometimes 2 antihistamines as I have 2 dogs and I've become allergic to them in the last 5 years.
