Fraility Score

I live by myself. Look after myself totally, do my own shopping, cooking, housework, etc.etc.
Yes, I do have various medical conditions, Some quite serous. can manage around my flat just using a trolley to get food, etc from kitchen to living room. Outside I use either a mobility scooter for local things, or my electric wheelchair for anything involving public transport.
I order my own repeat prescriptions and sort out the taking of my different tablets.

Just noticed on my GP's Patient Access records that I have been given a Fraility Score of 0.417, which puts me into the Serious Fraility range.

Had no idea how and when this was tested and what difference it makes to me.
Anyone else noticed such a score in their records?

Never heard of this, but was alarmed when post-op for my gall bladder, I went to file the notes away to notice that the hospital had included DNR on my record without ever discussing this with me!!

Would it surprise me if Palentier had programmed an Algorithm to show how much old people are costing the NHS?
Not for one nano second.
Don’t forget, these are the evil bastards who supplied the Algorithm to bomb the school in Iran.
One glimmer of hope: the government are now going to look at the Palentier NHS contract.

Maybe other contractors would have had the NHS contract if they did what Palantir did when they bid for it. They deliver what you pay for at the price they said they would. Other contractors promise the earth for less money and then don't without considerable overspend. Like them or love them, the difference they will make to the NHS could revolutionise it in terms of waiting lists and treatment paths which currently delay things enormously costing lives. A lot of the people doing the work don't actually work for Palantir, just want to do good for the NHS and wouldn't go near their defence arm which is in the USA.
The trouble with all the software companies who do work for the public services is that they are briefed by people who don't know enough about what they are asking for, are easily bamboozled by glib promises and then don't hold the contractors to account when it doesn't work. Also, by the date it is delivered, technology has moved on and some of it is already obsolete so before we get rid of Palantir, let's have a credible alternative and hope we don't choose someone like Fujitsu who did the Post Office software.

My GP practice texts a link to a questionnaire every few months and that is how (computer I think) determines frailty score . It changes depending on your answers

Having read this discussion, I cannot find any frailty score on my NHS app or Patient Access. Doing a search within the app does not bring up frailty score either. I wonder if this is another postcode lottery?

I know quite a lot about this as my daughter works for Deloitte.
She tests the programs that the developers build.
Those in the know knew this wasn’t going to work.

I agree with you Re the customers not understanding what is needed. My daughter went through this while testing the new HO system.
It is noticeable that the government are looking at the contract again as there is a contract pause due in Feb 2027.
Thousands of NHS workers can’t be wrong.

I ve hunted and looked it up and nothing anywhere
I don’t need one and I don’t want one and I d be livid if I got one through age only.
