skin cancer on nose

Polnan I can see you are worried but this is quite a common, usually sun damage related situation. My husband had a sizeable lump on his nose biopsied last year and it was invasive. 5 days of radiotherapy (literally a 5 minute appointment) whisked it away. A little soreness but a good cream prescribed helped with that. He does have to stay out of the sun and wears a hat. I hope yours is negative but if it is positive the treatment is bearable.

I think getting older is really scary when you've been healthy all your life. I'm in the same boat, now we have to face the thought of operations which scare me to death!

I'm having a steroid injection and nerve block injection in my foot on Friday. I've no idea if these will help or leave me in even more pain. Also having a cataract operation, not sure when. which scares me even more.

Lots of scaring going on here, but I keep telling myself it's all in my head. I think for both of us, the imagining is always going to be the worst part. I'm just thinking about other procedures I've had done and they were a walk in the park compared to the walk going on in my head (through burning bushes) ha ha.

So just remember they do this stuff all the time and if you keep calm you'll have no problem at all. Strangely enough, I do calm down when the procedure starts, it's the days before which are worse.

I know several people who have had skin lesions removed from their noses. All have recovered very well.
BTW I had cataracts in both eyes removed and replaced and it was absolutely fine. I was terrified after the first one but after that I had no fear for the second. Bring it on.

My mum had a Basel cell removed from the side of her nose andnever had any further problems

My friend had a Basal Cell removed from the side of her nose, about 10 years ago.
No recurrence or further problems.

chestnut, don't be scared of the cataract op, I've had one done and now waiting for the other to get done,,,oh has had both eyes done, you won't feel anything...
