Butty, you probably have micro-microfibre cloths for cleaning your camera lenses.

What I like about them is the lack of fluff. I adore cotton and linen for most purposes, but they don't half leave a lot of fluff about and I have enough dust bunnies already. Microfibre is especially good for tiles and windows and you don't need to use chemicals with them, though you can if you want. I did try a microfibre towel too but wasn't impressed. Cotton is more absorbent and has a better 'grip' on skin, I think. Blether blether. oh yes! you can wash boil them too should you feel the need. (If your house gets as skanky as mine you might need to ).

I love the glass cleaning one but I spray a very small amount of glass cleaner on the glass first then wipe it off with the microfibre cloth - it's brilliant much better finish than an ordinary cloth and much less liquid too. I think you can do the same thing with newspaper but I get filthy doing that! Didn't think much of the de-greasing one or do I just spread more grease around when I'm cooking?

Can't believe I'm asking this but what's special about micorfibre cloths? They are beginning to turn my head but are pricey............are they worth it?

Logical bagitha really. The cross infection control bit of our PCT now recommend handwashing with, wait for it............soap and water!

Read an article recently by a top surgeon who thinks there'd be less MRSA and suchlike nasties in hospitals if they opened the windows and let in some fresh air and all the lovely friendly bacteria with it. I think his argument was that if you scrub all the friendlies away that makes it much easier for the nasties to take hold because they have no competition. In short, sterile may not be quite the right answer. Interesting.

Like my Nana and Mother, I use plenty of hot water and lots of energy [but only when I feel like it]...if I'm having a fun-time on GN, then the rest can hang on until I'm in the mood. Have spent far too many hours of my life worrying about germs...only one of which, nearly killed me. Nicked my thumb on a rusty gate latch. One week later, admitted to hospital with grade A strep septicaemia.
Allergic to penicillin. Spent a week on a drip of a cocktail of drugs. Almost lost my arm...and my life. Scary!

Use some common sense! So long as it looks clean, fine! It probably is! You are not a hospital to be worried about mrsa and pseudomonas and staph aureus etc!
I presume you aren't performing surgical operations in your house? Or have wardful of elderly incontinent bed bound ladies? If you have have you been inspected by the appropiate authorities?

Actually, what you say about bacteria is helpful. I do know it - well my 'commonsense' knows it. I just need to keep remembering it. I only get a bit of angst when a little bit of stress comes into my life!
