Getting rid of blood stains?

Afternoon all,

Despite rubbing with a Vanish bar before putting into the washing machine, there are still blood stains on an Egyptian cotton sheet and duvet cover sad

I've googled but I think they might be there for good now.

Any advice?

Jess as Phoenix suffers from eczema presumably she has to avoid 'bio' products.

Rather like Sooks Nan, I go for the boil option - not in the saucepan though grin. I find it works.

Hello again!

The eczema entirely stress related, it has already started to look a lot better (luckily I only seem to get it on my forearms) so I'm ok to use bio products.

Any tips on eczema? I've got it on my feet sad. Had patches of it before but never on my feet; not helping that I can only walk in trainers cause of my mutant feet. Dr gave me some eumovate but must admit to using some betnovate that has been lurking in the medicine cabinet for a long time. Trying to give my feet an airing whenever possible, though.

Ideally, you would want to tackle the stain with water right away. The fresher the blood is, the more effective it is to clean it off. And then, apply some soap on it. Give it a good rub all over the stain. And if you're dealing with light-color fabric, hydrogen peroxide (which will act as bleach) will be a good option. In worse cases when the blood has dried, you'll need to put more work into it. First, apply some pre-treatment products which could be found anywhere on the market. Then use enzyme-based laundry detergent to wash off the stain. This could be applied to bed sheets, shoes, and any kinds of fabric or leather materials.

I have always used salt. Rubbed in, left to work for a few hours then put in the washing machine on a hot wash.
Always worked ( so far )
