Toilet Rolls - soft but not strong

Had the same problem. Mind you ,the blockage ends up in old git next doors drain and he has to deal with it!

Yes indeed! Our shared drain has had to be unblocked quite a few time since we've lived here, due to nappy liners being flushed down the toilet by one of the neighbours.

I used to flush the odd piece of kitchen roll, but don't any more!

Those of us with older properties have to be careful.

I find that only quilted loo rolls are strong enough. Every time they are on offer I stock up.

When soft toilet tissue first became available, my father insisted that it was about as useful as a handful of confetti! We had to use the Izal type for years, as he brought home all the stock from the bank where he worked, when they changed over to soft. Each piece was printed with 'now wash your hands'. My brother and I were given the job of tearing off and interleaving the sheets to fit in our flat dispenser.

I have found that some recycled brands beyond useless.
Some of the more expensive brands do not bio-degrade as well though do they because they contain something other than wood pulp.

Agree with dollie, Sainsbury's own (in white) is best I have found and have done lots of research - we are a bit choosy when it comes to loo rolls. Hate it on holiday if they aren't up to scratch (no pun intended).

Our friend gets them when he goes to his caravan near Fowey. We but them from him by the bale, 5 packs with 9 rolls in each pack. When he first told us about them we thought it might be a special offer with a limited time, but he has been getting them for us for over a year now!

There are other stores around, 2 in your neck of the woods (but not very close) and Wales. The only one closest to me is Southampton and that is a tad far to go to shop.

I have never heard of Buyology phoenix. I must google it to see if they sell in other parts of the country.

I have been using a brand called Nicky Elite which a friend gets in bulk from a place called Buyology. Really good quality, and a bargain at £1.99 for a pack of 9! Loads better than Andrex.

Yes, I think it is Cushelle. DD1 asked if we had brought it back from Australia with us!

Cushelle for me, I think that is the koala one. Seems stronger than most.

We like the one with koalas on it (only white!). Available in Lidl, Tesco and probably other places.

i use sainsburys own and find it doesnt disintergrate...i never buy the coloured though..
