I am that sad old dear who also checks that the speciprices/ discount/ bogof has registered. If I am wrong I have no embarrassment in apologising. Many years ago in the days when £50 for a supermarket shop was really pushing the boat out DH came back from Sainsburys having spent over £80 shock I checked the till receipt and saw that sausages instead of coming up at 50p or so had gone through at over £5.00 a lb!! Quick phone call got me my refund next time I was there.

I must admit that twice in the past week I've pointed out to my local C**p supermarket that the price charged was higher than the shelf price. Luckily I'd only bought a few items so noticed it easily.

I can only assume that it was input incorrectly on the instore system.

Each time I had to sign a slip for a refund!

What's the betting it's still priced incorrectly next week - maybe I'll check? smile

Always, when I realised years ago I had been charged twice for an item on more than one occasion in Sainsbury's.

Always check our bill, I've known my OH to go back when its only pence to complain.

I would urge everyone to go through their food bill from the supermarket.

In Morrisons two weeks ago I was charged twice for an item. In Sainsburys today loose potatoes stated £1 per kg on the shelf. I queried the £1.50 per kg which came up on my receipt. The girl said she only had two prices to choose from and neither was £1 per kg. I went to customer services took the assistant to the shelf and got a refund.

These huge organisations are fleecing us by stealth. It is up to all of us personally to make sure we not being overcharged.
