Pressure washer for patio

I think I need one as it's a pain using the yard brush and bucket of bleach.
If anyone has one I would be interested in any recommendations. They vary greatly in price. I don't think I could handle a heavy one.
Any tips please?

mrsmop I have put some stuff down...it was called ALGE something was about £5-99 and made about a gallon and half...you add water to to it...sprinkle it on with watering can or sprayer or you cant use soft brush...you just leave it! you don't scrub it nothing! over the next few days the alge and dirt start to disappear..as if by magic! the more it rains the cleaner it comes I used it last year and my flags/paths etc come up nice and clean..you do have to be patient, we are on a water meter so darnt use a pressure washer...

We have block paving and use 'Patio Magic'.You mix it and spray it on,more economical than a watering can.Works really well.Available from big garden centres and recently from Tescos for just under £7

I borrowed a Karcher from a neighbour a couple of weeks ago (see Simple Pleasures thread) and had a great time with it . I think they are about £80 . It was very effective and I used it on garden furniture as well as the patio and path.

karcher patio washer
I love my Karcher. The patio attachment makes it as easy as vacuuming a carpet. The compact ones are not heavy and they all have wheels. I even volunteered to clean the playground and outdoor equipment at the school where DD works. The results were very satisfying!

We have a Karcher too and we used it to clean the revolting high chair! It works well on the patios too! grin

The only thing with pressure washers is they don't seem to last. We have had quite a few over the years. We've had different makes but makes no difference. Karcher probably the best.

I have had my Karcher for 15 years, still as good as new, although only used a few times a year.

I really don't understand this fashion for cleaning patios and garden paths! Different, of course, if they become slippery and dangerous but as far as I'm concerned, cleaning stops at the back door. It takes me all my time to keep the house clean without worrying about cleaning the ground outside. smile

I would have agreed with you vegasmags - until I recently bought a pressure washer and was so impressed with it, I went around looking for things to point the washing bit at and espied the patio. Aha! thought I - and blasted it. I am so pleased I did as I'd forgotten what a lovely pale stone it was instead the darker colour it had become (so slowly that I didn't really notice the change). I now stalk the property looking for anything else that needs seeing to grin

DH loves the Karcher, it's his toy. I'm not allowed to play. Apart from the patio he uses it to wash the car.
