Any views on soup makers? I don't actually cook but quite fancied one of these. Is it as simple as it says?

You would have to peel onions.

well yes- but then big uneven chunks- or be lazy and use frozen ready peeled and cut (but that IS really lazy!)

I do a big bag of sliced/ chopped onions and put them in the freezer (use folder processor or by hand), doesn't take long to do. Also do same for peppers.

I've never heard of a soup maker.

I eat soup for my breakfast most days, I make a large patch for the week.
I just put all the ingredients in a pan, bring to boil, cover lower heat, timer on. that's it
If I want a creamed soup blitz it with a hand held blitzer while in the pan, or mash with a masher.
Put servings into freezer boxes.
Very quick and easy.

My soup maker is a large pan and a blender. Oh, and me with a chopping board and a knife.
