Triangle shape pillow - help please.

Bought one recently thinking it would prop me up comfortably in bed when I'm reading or on GN using my tablet but I can't get comfortable. Have tried it with and without one and then two normal pillows underneath but I keep slipping/sliding down the mattress. I have cotton sheets so I don't think that can be the problem. Suggestions gratefully received.

I was thinking of buying one of these so would be interested in what others have to say.

don't know if it would help but I had one of those for precisely the same reason as you
now I use the triangulated pillow underneath the normal pillows (2 memory foam ones laid akimbo to support me at the side as I suffer with a bad neck) and find that suits me
I am on the small size so that gives me enough support smile

I bought one last year because I needed to be propped up well rather than loll about. I also bought a pillow case for it. It seems very big and bulky at first but it is very sturdy and also very comfortable. It comes quite high up at the back too. It props me up very well and is almost like sitting in an armchair. It's been useful as well for propping my feet up on (I have a DVT). I would recommend them.

Thanks grannyonce I'll give your suggestion a try.

So how did you use yours in bed sherish - on its own or with other pillows?

Put on socks (on your feet, not the pillow)

I have one, which I love, and which I bought after recent operations. When I was recovering, I used my smallish, quite firm cylindrical cushion in the bed, to sort of push my feet against. Don't need it now, though. My V cushion is quite sturdy, and works well with just my memory foam pillow propped up beneath.

BTW - you can get coloured V shaped pillow cases from Amazon.

It could be that your mattress is not soft enough to allow your bottom to sink into a bit of a dip when you are sitting up. Try a mattress topper? Perhaps a memory foam one?

They seem to do something to today's cotton sheets too which makes them slippery.

After a shoulder operation, i had one that I increased the height of [grammar?] by putting a regular pillow on top of the triangular one for reading, then managed very well with it only for sleeping (except that i was in so much pain that i didn't sleep much - but it was comfortable)

I don't use a pillow underneath it as it's quite big and firm enough not to need any other support. I shuffle it about until I get it into the position I'm the most comfortable with.

I have one too and I cant get it to stay in position in bed so Ive got it on sofa and I prefer that. I use it when Im reading or typing on my computer as today.

I too had to sleep sitting up for a few weeks earlier this year (broken shoulder). I found the most comfortable for me was ..normal pillow..delta (triangle pillow).... then a normal pillow across the top of the V of the delta pillow.

This made a kind of armchair to support me. As for slipping/sliding down the bed.....a SECOND delta placed on the mattress (V towards bottom of bed), then my behind lowered strategically into it helped me to stay in upright position for longer!!

Sounds like a bit of a faff but worth it!

Hope this helps.
