How do you get men's white y-fronts clean without using bio detergent (which they are so often allergic to) and a boil wash, which ruins the elastic ... c

...so that you don't get grey pants with, shall we say, 'off colour' middle bits?

This is a man's view -- BIN THEM.

If he has a problem. get him a pack of Tena for Men, Tesco stock them. Because I have kidney problems I have problems from time to time and use TFM pads, they are discrete and work.

Some one mentioned putting chemicals near your sensitive bits, we put babies in them, so I sure there is nothing to worry about.

Have you tried giving them a long soak using your normal powder? Thinking back to washing nappies days I often soaked them in hot water with Persil overnight before washing and could be proud of them on the line!

TriciaF, don't blame you one bit. Why would anyone want to look at them in that state, unless the person has mental health issues. There are certain things in life that you shouldn't have to do, that is one of them. Hope you had?? to recover.

[grin) - just read this thread, don't know how I missed it!
It reminded me of the time when my F in L was on his own. He was a widower, then remarried and it didn't work out. He used to bring me his washing and he wore cream woolen underpants, baggy style, usually in an unsavoury condition. I wasn't surprised that she had left him, I refused to wash them.

Buy some new ones and bin the others.

Flowerofthewest: I suppose there ain't an alternative. I can't be the only one to have had a wee accident and put tissues in my knickers only to retrieve a shredded mass of paper later.

Flowerofthewest Thu 25-Feb-16 22:47:12

Alternative pleaseJaxie

Jaxie Tue 09-Feb-16 15:39:12

To floweroftheWest: Do you really want chemical filled Tena pads in perpetual contact with your important little place though?

sluttygran Sat 06-Feb-16 12:27:18

Good for you, Phizz - I think in your place I might have used caustic soda!

phizz Thu 04-Feb-16 22:45:12

Somebody mentioned Spotted Dicks earlier.

Brings to mind the time my ex husband was playing around with yet another floozey.

I dutifully washed his clothes as usual them gave the crotch of his pants a nice dip in OMO suds then dried them nicely for him.

It kept me amused for hours, watching him surreptiously scratching his nether regions and even more amused when his new little friend went the way of all the others.

I used to use Biotex, I didn't know you could still get it!

I use Vanish in a spray for 'awkward marks'

Valerie1928 Thu 04-Feb-16 17:54:45

Have none of you ever used "BIOTEX" can be bought in Wilkinson's, Boots and all supermarkets. Soak overnight in a hand hot solution then just wring out, no need to rinse and put in washing machine with whites only. ?

Good idea ninuksmith ?

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 04-Feb-16 12:36:37

Well, I'm not going there. No way. hmm

littleowl Thu 04-Feb-16 12:30:30

I’ve seen it on tele where women from far afield countries, do their washing using a wash stone and thwack the garments on it to wash them Believe they do not even use soap and their washing is sparkling clean. It’s a bit of a communal thing it seems.
This thread is going places.

I actually put my DH's white boxer shorts with my other whites washing using Napisan(for baby nappies). It is non bio and it claims to kill most germs even in 30 degrees C. I never mix even the palest cream colour garments in my whites and I do using the highest temperature washing as I have white towels and white beddings as well. You can find Napisan in Supermarkets shelves amongs the baby's stuff ie: Miltons baby bottles cleaner etc. I have heard praises from friends how white my T shirts and white jeans are. Hope this helps.

MIL has used a rubbing board with a bar of soap for the 45 years I have known her. All the grandchildren used to ask her to wash their white socks as they ended up whiter than white. DH used to say shirt collars never lasted long though!

When I was small I remember that once a month mum would wash our white knickers then put them in diluted bleach for a few hours then wash them again. They were always really white.

Blinko Thu 04-Feb-16 10:14:38

Vanish, in the pink container, soak first then 40deg. wash is fine.

5boysnan55555 Thu 04-Feb-16 10:10:13

No to washing men's handkerchiefs, my mom used to boil dads in a saucepan.♨️?

Lemonlegs13 Thu 04-Feb-16 09:50:20

Haha, who remembers Nick Kamen in the 1985 Levis launderette advert.... WHITE boxers.....ok with me...❤️

NemosMum Thu 04-Feb-16 09:43:38

Buy black and tell him it's the new white. I've worn black undies for years because 2 washes and the white is a bluey-grey. Always looks like 'Someone's mum isn't using Persil', but Persil doesn't work either!

AlgeswifeVal Thu 04-Feb-16 07:59:10

Glad this post is over. Got fed up reading about arses and urine staines.

Synonymous Wed 03-Feb-16 23:40:50

Thanks everyone for such a good laugh, this thread seems to have taken on a life of it's own. grin

nansoval Wed 03-Feb-16 23:21:38

Wear black ones like my DH !
