following on from the thread about what small thing would make things better, what have you got recently which you couldn't now live without?

. . . my reach and grab stick, it helps me dust, grab my glasses, feed the dog, open the window, just a fantastic piece of kit for only a few pounds. smile

I love my very old, thin metal springy fish slice (or fish turner as a friend calls it). Where oh where can I get a new one like this?
Both the non-stick pan sort and the metal ones are way too thick and not nearly flexible enough.
Ideas please..
Thanks!

My laminator and ring binding machine. I love making picture books for the youngest two - using photos and downloaded pictures. The most recent one was called "what is James eating?" and included all his favourite foods and pictures of him eating. The older boys like to make up their own stories as I type, and we then choose the pictures together to illustrate them. These personalised books are constantly chosen for bedtime reads, even long after the making of them.

I have recently bought a little widget about the size of a large matchbox which automatically turns on lamps to save you scrabbling (?) behind pieces of furniture to find the switch. It works up to 3 lamps and you just stand in the doorway to switch them on. Oh, the feeling of power! (PM me for details)

I make cards and recently bought a Cricut which is an electronic cutter ... love, love, love it! I know I could live without it, but don't want to!

The one thing I couldn't do without is music.

Wilmaknickersfit, Already have, it's quite expensive and I am still waiting for results.

grin

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 10-Feb-16 09:56:11

Doh! I knew it didn't sound right, but I've only got one eye open so far this morning and am still dozy! Well, I might be dozy any way! grin

My desk top computer, I am addicted to it. When it broke down recently I was suffering from withdrawal symptoms.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 10-Feb-16 09:52:26

Wilma it's Argon oil. I expect that was an Ipad whoopsy. smile

(sorry for pulling your leg)

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 10-Feb-16 09:49:43

Thanks jing, I just have visions of it weighing down my hair because it has oil in it.

Amazed at all the iPads. I've always been an Android gal.

Anniebach Wed 10-Feb-16 09:40:25

IPad

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 10-Feb-16 09:36:02

Yes Wilma. You go in and ask for it by name. wink

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 10-Feb-16 09:34:44

I think I might try Aragon oil shampoo just to see what all the fuss is about! grin

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 10-Feb-16 09:33:11

I can't think of a thing. I did buy an electric tin opener a week ago but I have yet to work out how the bloody thing functions. hmm

Katek Wed 10-Feb-16 09:27:46

And another one for the iPad/iPhone!

Greyduster Wed 10-Feb-16 09:07:30

Plus one for iPad.sad

Haven't acquired anything lately I couldn't do without - I bought a new tablet but haven't used it much as I also had a new lap top last year and I use that most of the time. In that sense I would say the lap top but I had one before.

Daddima Wed 10-Feb-16 08:53:31

Ipad here also!

But, Imperfect27, I shall be hot-footing to Boots today for Argan Oil shampoo, as steroids have absolutely wrecked my hair ( and everything else!). Still, hoping doc will reduce dosage again today.

cornergran Wed 10-Feb-16 07:52:51

Try again. blush. Soup maker. Wasn't sure I would use it but it rarely has a day of rest.

Imperfect27 Wed 10-Feb-16 07:36:32

Argon oil shampoo - it has sorted out the menopausal frizzy mess that my hair got into - thoroughly recommend it!

loopylou Wed 10-Feb-16 06:44:53

Mini iPad I'm afraid.....I never thought I'd write that!

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 10-Feb-16 01:38:31

I would also feel like my right arm had been chopped off without my tablet. wink

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 10-Feb-16 01:37:16

I get it rubylady wink

I would hate to be without my Babyliss Big Hair hairdryer and rotating brush thingy or the straighteners I got with my Tesco points. For the first time in years I can get my hair to sit the way I want it. Three cheers for technology! grin

Yes, I meant things like an electric can opener or an fan to cool down night sweats. The one thing that you have bought and think that it really is worth it's weight because it is needed in your life?

Obviously we all only need air and food and water to stay alive, that wasn't what I was getting at. It was just a light thread as a bit of fun.

Oh well, I tried . . . confused
