Extra long/extra deep ......

....fitted single bed sheets. Anyone know where I can find some that won't break the bank? I just replaced two single mattresses with zip&link ones and they are extra deep and 6'3" long. My (almost new) angry fitted sheets are too small. I've just bought a couple of flat sheets to tide me over (they're also too small) as the grandchildren are coming to stay for a week or two tomorrow.
Any recommendations gratefully received.

We have an odd sized bed, in between King and SuperKing, and for several years I had pure cotton fitted sheets made to fit by Keys of Clacton, Google will find them. Not cheap but they did last ages. They will make to fit any size of bed.

However the last time one wore out I just went and bought big enough pure cotton flat sheets from John Lewis. They stay tucked in fine - mind you I have always done hospital corners with flat sheets. Or 'envelope ends' as my mother used to call them.

I quite agree, Ikea fitted sheets are idea for a deep mattress and they wear well.

I had a couple from John Lewis, but you have to ask to make sure they are the deep ones. Did you know that single beds are 6 ft long and yet double and king are 6ft 3 ins. I didn't know this when I tried to replace one of our zipped king-sized ones, and the only place which pointed this out was Bensons Beds. I was very grateful, and so I bought it from there.

Fitted sheets have never worked for me as I am a bit of a fidget when I sleep, and they end up rucked up beneath me. So uncomfortable !!!
Flat sheets with hospital corners really are the best option I think. smile

John Lewis do very good all cotton extra deep fitted sheets. In this hot weather they are a godsend. Also, just as a hopefully helpful tip, if you are looking for all cotton mattress protectors, again J Lewis is about the only place to buy a mattress protector that is all cotton - cover, sides and filling. 'Many say 'all cotton' but when you read the blurb they mean only the cover and the filling is some sort of hot scratchy polyester.

We have a Millbrook Connoisseur 5000 zip and link superking which has a very deep mattress, and I find 'The White Company' fitted sheets are wonderful!
You may want to measure your bed before splashing out on sheets though, as single and double beds are 6ft 3in long, and king size and superking are 6ft 6in.
A friend of ours has a zip and link, but it's only 6ft 3 long, as basically it's two singles which zip together, hence the shorter length.

Ive got 4' wide electric bed. Took me a while to find the correct size fitted sheet.
I just Googled until I found an online supplyer with good selection of the corrrect
size and nice selection of colours. Never liked white sheets.

As I have great difficulty turning at night, I find a a combination of satin nighties and silk sheets make it easier. However, the only silk sheets I can get without spending a thousand pounds don't have deep ones

We buy them from Dunelm. I think they are 32cm deep. Nice quality.

We have two separate mattresses on our king sized bed which we bought to replace our previous double. None of our existing fitted sheets were big enough so, to begin with, we managed with flat sheets tucked under with hospital corners.
However, the size of the complete joined mattress was very heavy so we unzipped them and now use in separate parts with home made fitted sheets. Also have single duvets, one each so no tug-of-war for the duvet.

I have to get (pure cotton) fitted sheets and mattress covers made for our bed - the base is a V-Spring in between king and super-king that I found in the sales decades ago - when I was still using flat sheets and didn’t imagine any downside.

We’ve since replaced the mattress - that was obviously had to be special size, too. Thankfully duvets and covers are no problem - I just use super-king.

I forget the co. that makes them (to any size) but Google soon finds it.

Blimey! I fell for this ‘ad’ - a resurrected post from 2016! 🤣

I’ve reported it now. You can stand by your beds.

I buy all mine from Amazon. Good value. If you want extra special ones then go to an expensive store, I refuse to pay over the odds for bedding that comes with a designer name when you cannot tell the difference between them and un-named sheets. At the end of the day you are only going to shed your skin and body odour over them.

8 years old this thread 😂 those sheets will need replacing again by now.

I looked twice because of the title…🫨 then realised it would’ve been under Relationships (not House and Home) if it was what I first thought…😉

M and S do super king size which are for 6ft 3" bed mattresses.
