Bed Cushions

I love bed cushions and have them for every season, (even ones with polar bears and penguins for the winter in the room our DGD uses).
I embarrassed to say they don't last very long because the dog runs off with them and shreds them to pieces for some unknown reason - probably because they get thrown on the floor at night! grin

I love textures too, so yes, cushions in most rooms.

I used to have some but realised what a waste of time and energy they were, on and off the bed for no good reason whatsoever. I bought square continental pillows which sit against the headboard and our normal pillows on the bed. Once I've finished reading or ipading grin the square pillow goes on the chair and I sleep on my normal feather pillow.
OH was very happy when I got rid as he couldn't arrange them tastefully like I could wink

I like cushions on a chair, but those on beds are just a nuisance. You don't need them ever. If you want to prop yourself up to read, that's what the extra pillows are for.

Sounds like it Kittygrin

Are we married to twins JaneA? Dh hates all cushions with a passion. Or at least he did until he hurt his back and now can often be found with one wedged between him and the chair back!

Seems to be a common thing, women love cushions and throws and men hate them, is that a really sexist comment ? I did have a lot of both but have ditched most now apart from some cushions. Saved myself a lot of washing.grin

Well done Mr A. They are a thundering nuisance.

I'm with Mr A; I loathe them too. They are pointless. I cannot countenance throwing them on the floor, and I don't want to have the bother of finding somewhere else to put them. The last hotel we stayed in, I asked for them to be taken out of the room for the duration of our stay.

As well as being decorative the cushions serve to support your back if you retire to your room in the afternoon for a quiet read, or reading in bed with a ☕️ in the morning, or last thing at night.
MrA loathes them. He flings them on the floor with a gesture of disgust as he gets into bed, and once after making the bed, instead of artfully arranging them, piled them all into a vertical tower just to annoy me. shock

I think they look so nice and finish off the overall decor of a room just two pillows on the bedroom floor would not really cause a problem I am sure,if in hotels they can be placed in the bottom of wardrobes if you don't want them on your bed.

I confess to being a cushion freak sprite66, but really only have 2 small ones on the bed and that's only because they match the curtains and they were too lovely to resist. You are right though, they just get thrown on the floor when we get into bed.

My real cushion weakness is in my family/dining room. I have a small sofa piled with all kinds of cushions. I am practising Hygge and cannot resist soft, cosy textures. I love throws too and everything else that promotes that warm, cosy atmosphere.

Every design programme, every bed showroom, every hotel room has beds piled high with an assortment of cushions. Looks lovely. However they all have to be removed in order to get into bed, the most obvious place being onto the floor. Am I missing something here, or have we (nearly) all been brainwashed into buying cushions which serve no purpose except to chuck on the floor?
