Are you houseproud?

Our sofa is on legs which mean you can see underneath so yes I do hoover under it. Does that make me an unfun person? I do like to hoover under the bed as well. Sorry!

Our house is our home not a show piece. I do like it to be reasonably tidy and hygienic but we live in it and a bit of dust and a few crumbs doesn’t bother me.

My bathroom and kitchen are the two places that i clean every day.
I vaccum everywhere at least once a week and dust. I have too many other more interesting things to be doing instead of housework.
I wasn't always like that but i am now, can't see the sense of housework when there are only two of us here, it is different with a family.
I did strip covers off settees this week and hoover the furniture as after Xmas there is always allsorts found down the side, but that will be it till spring when i may take down curtains and clean windows.
Life is to short to worry bout a cobwed or bit of dust.

DH moves furniture and vacuums thoroughly at least once a week.
We also iron everything including socks and dusters.

Made myself a promise early on in my marriage that I wouldn’t do housework if there was something more interesting to do. There usually has been!

I do like things neat and tidy. Always plumping up my cushions, and arranging the curtains so they're open the same amount on each side. Silly really.. I can't relax unless things are orderly, at least.

I couldn't possibly move my sofa on my own. I'm impressed by your friends muscles.

I like things to look nice and tidy, but my sofa and chair are quite heavy so I don't move them every time I vacuum. I have to have the kitchen and bathroom pristine though.

I love those unexpected phrases that predictive text chooses sometimes. I sent a text last week to someone called Leigh. When it had sent, I realised it had called her 'leggings'.

All our furniture has legs so that I can hoover underneath without ever having to move anything. This started by accident, but now happens by design.

I have a system for doing all the cleaning on a Monday morning and thats it. The advantage of a system is that when it is inconvenient you ignore it. So didn't clean this week because we were unwell, won't clean next week because on Monday we have to go to a funeral.

My mother seemed to keep the house clean and tidy without ever being seen doing housework. Like me

I like things to be quite tidy but am not house proud. Living room tidy bedroom less so because I live by myself and the bedroom is just mine so if anything is dumped out of the way it's in there ( or the hall cupboard if it will fit!) I'm afraid I do like to iron the tea towels though ( but definitely not underwear or socks)

Not as much as I used to be. Do like to put stuff away, tend to feel twitchy when there is too much to do. Other stuff now seems to be as and when, like at the moment when the sun is blazing through the windows showing up every mark and speck of dust. I must have had a rush of shit to the brain yesterday and gave the kitchen a good bottoming. At least it was nice and clean for the gas man’s visit. Also a nice clean floor for DH to spread Wheatabix crumbs all over it this morning.
We did actually move one of the sofas this morning. Had to to retrieve a cat toy from behind the bookcase. It went straight back without any hoovering being done. Slattern!

God no! Our house is lived in. It's not dirty, well not much and there are always things around - toys, books, paperwork, sewing/handicraft things. Life is far too short to keep every spec of dust at bay. I have a friend who will weed her virtually weed-free front garden and vacuum the path and steps - YES VACUUM - if someone is visiting for the first time

My sofa is a large corner unit: too heavy and a bit too rickety to start pulling out. It comes apart, but only by lifting one section out of the 'things' hold them together. Too heavy for one person to do. Positively dangerous, I'd say.

When I lived in London I had a neighbour who polished the lamp post outside her house!

I'm not shifting anything that's heavier than me and a sofa must be - mustn't it?

This week I've done much more housework than normal as my house is on the market and I have several viewings booked. It all lapsed over Xmas and lots of stuff collected all round the house so this week it's all been sorted.

It’s all relative I suppose ( as we all have different ideas on clean and tidy.)
I don’t do nearly as much as I used to.Kitchen and bathrooms kept very clean and tidy, other rooms less so.
Only vac round once a week, and dust once a week.
Find that now we don’t have pets it stay much cleaner though anyway.
We have a lot of books which seem to find their way everywhere in the house, so tidy them up into piles and plump up the cushions, light a perfumed candle and hey ho it’s done!

Our sofas have little legs and stand on a laminate floor - underneath them is the only place that dust and fluff bunnies gather. I have been cleaning the floor quite a lot lately because DGS is here from the States and they come round every few days, and I clean the floor so he can play on it.

I push the sofas out, clean where they stand, and then push them back. I also have to used a feather duster or swiffer to clear away the cobwebs which appear between the legs. It's a matter of seconds to swish under them, between the legs. There isn't much else to clean in our lounge - just a weeny bit of dusting and whisking away the cobwebs in the corners.

JackyB I shall have to have a word with your sofas to see if they object to being swished between the legs!

Recently had to move the bed out, what a surprise greeted me. Wont be going there again......

This thread is blinking dangerous. I've just felt the need to wash the blue glass plate in the bathroom. That looked so much better that I washed the conch shell and the glass dish that holds shells and bits of blue glass.

Unheard of!
