Thank-you everyone - I've checked them all out. I did see some of the LaGuiole at TK Maxx last week and really liked it, but they only had one small set and the knives were steak knives. I'll keep an eye on ebay as well.

I have some of that Stansgran which has just reminded me that I meant to add to it.

Sorry I can’t do links but Maison du Monde on line may have other options as they have lots of Provençale items.

TK Maxx sell LaGuiole if that may be something you could use in keeping with your Provençale theme

What about LaGuiole cutlery? Or even bistro style?http://en.laguiole-attitude.com/153-14742-large_default/24-piece-ivory-pearl-design-cutlery-set.jpg

Always masses of SP cutlery at auction houses.

This is a French antique-style cutlery set that is in fact stainless steel and so wouldn't need cleaning. We children used to be the 'silver cleaners' when we were growing up and I try to avoid silver cleaning these days.

Or try Ebay, auctions or even charity shops

Have a look at these Vernazza. They might help.

I started with ebay but got weary scrolling through the hundreds of patterns so thought I'd ask here, hoping some pattern names might help narrow it down.

An auction house is an interesting idea as well.

It depends upon what you are willing to pay. If you look on eBay, there are lots of sets of Community cutlery in all sorts of styles. Some really ornate sets.

I would look at an auction house.

I'm redoing my kitchen in a (sort of) French provencal country style, and have just bought this crockery. I am now on the hunt for a new set of cutlery to go with it (silverplated preferably rather than stainless steel which I think would look too modern). I want something that is kind of hardy looking - country style, thicker handles, not delicate in other words. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
