New pillows required!

I wonder in GN friends can help. I desperately need new pillows for our bed. I seem to have spent a fortune over the years on a wide variety of pillows.... Feather, foam, soft, firm but can't seem to find ones that induce a comfortable night's sleep. What kind do fellow GNs have that might be the answer to my bedtime prayers?

Dunelm have a good range - I sleep on my side and bought ones said to be good for side sleepers from there - pretty good.

M&S do good pillows and they will probably be in the sale in January.

Dunelm gets my vote too.

I have tried all types of pillow over the years until I received a free Dormeo Octaspring one with one of their mattress toppers. I often used to wake with sore ears and neck ache but not any more. Mine is a fat one so only the one required but think they do shallower ones too. This one is like mine;

I have a buckwheat pillow. It's the most comfortable pillow I've ever owned. It took two or three nights to get used to, when I first bought it, but I miss it when I go on holiday. It's cool in summer too.
this is where I bought it but you can find them on the big shopping sites too.

I've used this pillow for a while now and it's the best ever ... got it after having a crick in my neck for months and the pain was gone within a couple of nights. Not overly expensive and machine washable, although it does fit better into an extra large pillowslip rather than a normal sized one. smile

My DH and I have completely different pillows - on the same bed?. Not down due to allergies, so non allergenic, need renewed more frequently. Buy individually from JL or Dunelm then when happy with choice I buy more of the same and pop them in the spare room till needed. “New, improved” is the bane of my life.

I have spent a small fortune over the years on various pillows. This year I bought some from Morrisons and they are the best yet.

I have a memory foam pillow which did take a few nights to get used to it but I get an excellent night's sleep. It is not fat, I have one which is and is very uncomfortable. I think I bought both at Dunelm.

Our pillows are from Sainsburys - just their basic ones (£10 I think) - and they are so comfortable. I don't have much success at washing pillows as they just bunch up and are never the same. Any ideas, please?

I have Tempur cloud pillows expensive but worth it.

We had a similar problem and we ended up buying several pillows before we both could find ones comfortable enough which kept their shape.

I think we bought them from Harry Corry Ltd. One is feather the others aren't.

Thanks for your helpful advice folks. Lots of suggestions to pursue. It's good to know I'm not the only one with pillow problems. Like you, DanniRae, I don't have success washing pillows either.

It takes me about 3 days in the height of summer to wash and get pillows dried and then back in shape again. They are outside on the rotary dryer and each day I try to squeeze them back into shape, I am not always successful but the majority of the time it works.

Dunlopillo pillows------John Lewis. Pricey but the best.

Dh and I also have different pillows. Mine is a very soft and squashy goosedown (was in JL sale) - his is much firmer.

I wash them regularly - especially after reading all about dust mites in Bill Bryson's Short History of Nearly Everything!

They go in the tumble dryer, which I use only rarely now - and come out like new.
