Some years ago whe I needed to replace my iron we decided to get a press. The only one I could find locally was in Argos. I used it - the only place suitable was the kitchen table. It was good for bedding once they were folded and I was able to manage shirts. The only thing I could not do was a small hem which curled on things such as tea towels - you need to hold them as you iron and that was impossible. A small thing I know but it annoyed the h**l out of me!
I took it back within the two weeks because each time I used it I had severe back ache - the set up was obviously all wrong for me. I bought a steam iron with a separate reservoir and have never looked back.
