This is not normal as far as I’m aware. Hopefully the next one will be with a different agent. Still looking but nothing else has come up yet.

i’ve had two hydrotherapy sessions and yes it has made a difference. I’m booked for 2 sessions a week so should see continued benefit

Makes my back hurt just looking at your table Ellianne! Hope the trades are punctual and work satisfactorily. Interesting how the varnish has been lost - I had that sort of wear by the kitchen sink, but not elsewhere. Enjoy your new floor tomorrow.

Off to a shop to drop off a Collect+ parcel, then the beach. Huge Tesco delivery at 3 pm - was getting dark yesterday, I'm going to try and get an earlier 'slot', it's dangerous for the driver on this narrow country road.

If anyone likes 'binge watching', I do recommend 'Mad Men' on Amazon prime, it's about advertising men in Manhattan. Few rude bits but no frontals - I saw a little of Naked Attraction on Googlebox, blimey!

Once saw the first bit of naked attraction. I am just old fashioned but why do grown men and woman want to look like children down below. And what's with having sensitive area pierce!

It is getting darker earlier. I have my delivery every 4-6 weeks but usually book 12-1 if I can never later.

Got another UTI on antibiotics for 3 days hopefully that will do the trick.

Home from my weekly Sainsbury shop. I use the 'zapper' - item directly into my shopping bags. One bag for fridge/freezer items, second bag for all else. This week I was 'selected' for a check, (this is done random selector to prevent shop lifting). I was fine about that, but then my 'basket' would still not 'load,' and assistant came over again to me asking for my Nectar card, which he took and went away then came back to give back to me. Asked what I had done wrong (why do we always jump to conclusion it must be -our- fault?). But it turned out it was a computer glitch with my zapper.....got myself quite hot and bothered though.
All put away at home now.
Spice - that system of pricing a house sounds horrific, even worse than the system over here. Whichever way it goes for you I think you can think of as 'good'. If you get this property, - good, but if you don't - well, you know it is too big for you!!! Glass half full!!!
Still quite mild for time of year down south. No need for CH yet. Well, not in my flat which is quite warm. But horribly dull, and it was quite darkish by just after 3pm yesterday.
Then local authority brought forward by a fortnight the turning on of the Xmas light in the town. So, went on Saturday - but (obviously) not the usual party when they get turned on. But it does make it all lovely and bright , particularly in these long dark nights. I will not do anything like that at home until 1st December.

Loads of new house admin this morning.
Spotted a few things that the solicitor had added to the quote that were not needed. Got them removed. I wonder how many people just pay up without question?

I advertised some stuff to give away this afternoon and have had a steady stream of messages and people picking things up that I've left outside.

DH has been plagued by phone calls from estate agents wanting to know how we're getting on. The same company rang twice. This is why I always give out his number ???

Pittcity I always read documents carefully sometimes twice you have to as things can get added or missed.

I was plagued with estate agents everytime I sold . One was so annoying I reported him to the estate agents governing body.

Day 2 in floor laying land. The fitter was very courteous, offered to wear a mask and asked if he could listen to his radio. Helped move the marble table with us.
It should all be finished by tonight then we can get back in the kitchen. We've been making meals and cups of coffee in the utility room to keep out of the way.

Glad it is all going well, Ellianne. I beat you in getting bathroom done, but you are well in advance of me getting floor laid. Mine is expected to take 3-4 days as it is a much larger area.
Whiff I reported on EA to governing body, it was the first time I was trying to sell. Had a sole agency, and there was this very young man ringing my bell, telling me that one of my viewers was interested in purchasing my house, but would not do so through my EA. So, this one was trying to get me to end my contract with my EA the leave it a couple of weeks, then get that purchaser to agree a price through them. I could not believe what I was hearing. Indeed, that purchaser got in touch with me privately, and I found out that he had been spun the same story from the other angle - that I was v. unhappy with my EA and did not wish to sell through them,.

On the flip side of this, when, last year, I put my house on the market again - the lady appointed to me by the EA was worth her weight in gold - without her, I would not have had such a very successful outcome. She was a shoulder to cry on during the bad times, and worked so hard for me right to the end, being the one telling me when keys to my new flat were ready to collect, nearly four hours prior to getting that information from my expensive solicitors.

A quiet day for me today, just dog walks and lots of episodes of Mad Men. My chilblains are bad unexpectedly, hurts to walk, I must get some better slippers.

Franbern the estate agents I choose were wonderful. It was the estate agent acting for the vendor who told me completion had gone through. My solicitor phoned half hour later. But never did here from my estate agent. But I can not fault how hard they worked on my behalf selling my house.

When you mentioned about the lights I remembered you saying last year what a wonderful time you had. Funny how something's stick in your mind.

Shandy have you tried taking chilblain tablets. My dad suffered from them and they helped . You just buy them at the chemist over the counter. Worth a try.

Whiff fancy you remembering a post of mine from a year ago. Yes, it was great last year, the turning on of the towns Christmas lights, and it coincided by the first visit to me from my daughter and g.daughter from London. Such different times!!!!

I class you as my friends and friends remember happy and sad things that happen to them.

Just had my mammogram results everything is fine. Send for me in 3 years.

Unfortunately our offer was not accepted. We offered considerably above the top asking price for an unconditional sale. There were 9 other offers and the eventual purchaser was prepared to pay $170,000 above the top asking price. The final price was totally mad. Even the agent was stunned.

So, it's back to the drawing board for us.

Sorry Spice . Bits that's a ridiculous price to pay over asking price. Wonder if they are cash buyers like you. Or have to have a mortgage. Could it be a property developer and going to knock the house down and build lots of properties on it?

Are contracts exchanged now and it is a done deal . What happens if the purchaser can't complete ? Does it go back on the market or goes to second highest bidder?

Whiff it will not be a property development, not allowed in that area. The contracts will be signed tomorrow I should think and there will be a 3 day cooling off period and after that the contract will be binding. No idea of whether the purchaser is a cash buyer or not. I agree is is a ridiculous amount over the asking price and no way the property is worth that. The highest price ever in the area is over $100,000 less for better properties.

If the sale falls through the property would go back on the market. There could be negotiations between others that made an offer but many will have moved on and also the offers are now null and void so new offers would need to be submitted.

I think this is a reflection of the market at the moment. Very few new places coming on for months and now they are starting to there are buyers clambering to buy.

Our system isn't the best but doing that way is unfair . The seller must be over joyed. Makes me wonder if people who make ridiculous offers can keep the payments up.

Sorry to hear of your disappointment, Spice, But as I said previously, you could be well out of it, as the house was so much bigger than you really wanted and had those steps. Your future home is still out there waiting for you. Perhaps time to consider your hubbies advice about looking for another rental.

I've not heard from my solicitor since the first email with the offer letter and documents, I've just emailed him for an update. Five weeks have flown by.

Finally got the POA form for my aunt with my name spelt correctly, my neighbour very kindly witnessed my signature, I've just posted it back to them. I've just heard back from her and she likes the dark cream needlecord, a lot easier to sew than velvet. Finding a jerkin type waistcoat pattern in her size is proving difficult - I've just bought her one in Texas, keep your fingers crossed it makes it here! McCall's seem to have a different numbering system in different countries, it's been interesting looking at the vintage patterns still available, such elegance!

Just off for my dog's final dog walk, I am finding these dark evening walks so miserable, I don't see a soul. I drive down to the village for the streetlights. I've got a headtorch I wear round my neck, and I have a light up collar for him. Raining again, I do need a new mac, this 'seasalt' one is just too short and I can't find my waterproof trousers. Sorry, moan over, enjoy your evening!

Shandy Regatta have got a sale on. My waterproof trousers are men's . The woman's were £34 the men's exactly the same £19. Why the woman's where dearer I have no idea. Ok they are to long but I just roll them up. Glad they finally spelt your name right.

It will be six weeks on Saturday since I saw the bungalow, the seller accepted my offer on the Monday night.

I've just heard back from my solicitor and my 'file is in dictation', searches are back, but he's waiting for the contracts from the seller's solicitor. I've written to the EA and asked for their assistance in the matter.

Shandy glad the searches are back as they can take ages usually. The estate agent should be able to chase your vendors solicitor as it's in their interest as they want everything to go through as quickly as possible so they can get paid.

Sunny here but cold. Got a nice afternoon ahead of me . Looking after my grandson for a while . We are making biscuits. And decorating them if he wants to.

Just off the phone from the rental agency - seems when my tenancy ends it automatically goes onto a rolling monthly contract, so I can relax now. The weather here from January onwards is normally biting north winds and hail, sometimes snow, didn't want to be camping!
