Last November we treated ourselves to an expensive and very comfortable new bed after several years of backache. Single DD and two children moved in with us for lockdown with their puppy. Our lovely indoor cat was settled in upstairs, with food, water and litter tray available in bathroom. Stairgate to keep dog downstairs. However, about to get in to bed yesterday realised our normally very clean and fastidious cat had peed on the bed, (She must be traumatised by the whole situation). I washed the mattress as well as I could using bicarbonate of soda and left it to air while we slept in spare room. What I hadn’t realised was that it had gone straight through and even through the new base. We are not covered for pet damage in our insurance. Has anyone experienced anything like this? If so which enzyme product did you use? Will mattress and bed ever be smell free? I am particularly sensitive to bad smells though cannot tell one perfume from another.
