Vacuum cleaner recommendations please

I've just been reading about a Halo capsule, which is WHICH recommended. Has anyone got one? (I'm contemplating whilst I wait for my Miele to die.) Battery life and weight seem to be two issues with many.

Would never ever buy anything from Dyson now after his behaviour.

rowyn sorry- I do not have a clue what it is. I do not have one with a battery- all of mine are plugin and go but weight is an issue with so many, especially my Miele.

I have a Sebo and it is years old and still works beautifully. Have you noticed how many repair places there are for Dysons?

After owning several Dysons we changed to Shark and have never looked back!

I looked at reviews for best cordless vacuum 2021 only yesterday. My six year old Dyson animal is may need replacing soon. We had three large hairy dogs, now only two so the vac is used daily.
I’d been planning to get a Shark but the reviews say the new animal Dyson 7 runs 60 mins on one charge and is better on pet hair removal.
The Traditional plug in Shark is well reviewed but I like the light cordless vacs

This is ridiculous! Dyson has just published the facts, he is not a personal friend of Johnson and not a Tory donor other than £8,000 to a Tory MP for an engineering fair in her constituency.He would have been out of pocket if he had helped out by making ventilators and didn’t want his employees having to pay more tax to do the work.

I have had Dysons for years, there isn’t anything better.

I highly recommend the corded Shark Liftaway. I couldn't believe the difference between that and the Dyson that it replaced. It looked as though the carpets hadn't been vacuumed for weeks judging by the amount of dust it picked up!
All parts are replaceable and my only complaint is how flimsy the nozzle attachment is.

I've had a Henry for many years and have to be honest I love him / it .
I keep thinking about getting another but can't be parted from him!

I have a G-Tech that comes with a hand-held - they are excellent, but I won't let DH throw out my beloved old Sebo, even though I can hardly lift it now.

Although very heavy the Sebo is fantastic. Mine has been going strong for 22 years and never once had the slightest problem, not even clogging up .

Whatever you get, don't make it a Dyson unless you think Brexit was a good idea. That monstrous man backed Brexit, then relocated to Singapore. Now messages have emerged showing him lobbying Boris Johnson about tax. I wouldn't put a penny in his overflowing, tax avoiding, pockets.

I too have a cordless Shark Pet - it is brilliant.

We too have had a Sebo Felix for many years and it’s excellent but too heavy now for me to carry upstairs, as is our daughter’s Dyson. For upstairs we keep a GTech cordless which is brilliant and the GTech handheld is used for the stairs .

Not at all impressed with my Dyson, if it breaks I will not be getting another one. The best vacuum of the lot is Henry, but it was so cumbersome to manoeuvre, I had the Dyson, but when I feel fit I get the Henry out and you can really see the difference.

Shark lift away downstairs, battered, but still good Henry upstairs.

Just had to add this story: my DS's wife lived in the States for most of her young life . After they got married she got really frustrated by his hoover and and said in desperation " this thing sucks " . she wondered why he laughed.
