I’ve always had a gas hob but am tempted in my new kitchen to switch to induction. Have any of you switched? Do you regret it? Thank you.

I'd never had anything other than a gas hob but, when I moved here 2 years ago, I had a new kitchen installed and was advised by the kitchen designer that induction hubs were far more efficient and cleaner than gas. He was right! I'd never go back to greasy, temperamental gas. Any stainless steel pans work on it.

We have an induction hob and it is very easy to keep clean and so responsive. At the moment, DH is doing any cooking involving the hob as I had a pacemaker fitted a few months ago. I was by the cardiac team I could use it but I had to stand two feet away. I think this would be quite hard and DH feels it is not worth taking the risk to upset the settings so I am reluctantly handing over the baton. (Well not that reluctantly!)

Thank you very much everyone. I do feel that’s made up my mind, ease of cleaning is very important to me.

Don't change. My new flat had only electricity, all my live I have cooked with gas, ~After three years I still cannot get used to it, always burning stuff, or in oven not cooking enough. Don't change.

We have always had a gas hob. Finally got to try an induction hob when we hired a holiday cottage. I hated it! But then, I don't like electric hobs either. Sorry I know the consensus is that induction hobs are brilliant, but they're definitely not for me.

I have always had a gas hob but am now waiting for an induction one to be fitted. I am looking forward to it. I bought a few new saucepans, I was very pleased with the knowledge at Procook. I found the Tri Ply saucepans too heavy when empty and thinking of hot liquid in it.... We use a timeshare so have used them before.

IKEA sells every type of pan you could possibly need, suitable for induction hobs, at very reasonable prices indeed. They're the best I've come across tbh.

A dd has one, I use it a lot and am fine with it - it’s very quick to boil - except that at Christmas 2019 I couldn’t put my roasting tin on it to make the gravy. Dd was v heavily pregnant, which is why I was cooking.
If we had one I dare say I could find a roasting tin that it liked. Probably rather more expensive though.

I love my induction hob, so easy to clean and so controllable. Also looks very smart. I've got mains gas but I'd never have a gas hob now.

I had gas for 40 years, love my new induction hob from day 1 - so easy and so responsive. We did think about the one with crosses as you can put your pan anywhere but they were much more expensive and the pan doesn’t have to fit exactly on the circles anyway. Haven’t seen anyone else say that they make a noise sometimes (sort of a strong magnet noise!), surprising but not unduly loud. Only problem would be in a power cut, but I wouldn’t cook in the dark anyway!
