I have a shed 10‘ x 10‘ and not in bad condition, I thought!I had a guy come round from a shed company to see about doing the repairs and I’m having new windows doors and a roof however he did not pick up on the rotten wood at the bottom of the shed and I rang the company and was very peeved but it is what it is and I need to carry on. On the right side of the shed there about two panels of wood that are really rotten and a few along the front as well but the rest of the shed seems to be quite good condition. It is dry lined and has electricity. Anyway first thing to do is get all the rubbish out of it and my son is coming today to take rubbish to the tip so will see how it goes and keep you informed…. As you can imagine any advice very gratefully received(As long as it’s not burn it down and start again!!!?‍♀️) And inside the shed on the side where the rotten wood is the floor is quite damp so all in all I think this is going to be quite A big job…

I'm excited, too.
Have you got a colour scheme in mind for inside?
El sheddo sounds a bit like a bloke with a moustache.

I’m sorry misadventure but El Sheddo it is ?. The Walls are a very pale sage green, the flooring is well, sort of mosaic ?I will post a photo of it as soon as the floor men have gone..The ceiling is white and the Ottoman and sofa bed are grey.. and I am on the hunt for some sage green cushions

It’s busy but if it was plain you’d be having to clean it all the time as it would show up every mark.

Got a bit of the furniture in,just waiting now for coffee table and bed, I have enclosed pictures, you might need to wear sunglasses for the busyness of the floor!!..?

Shinamae Thu 09-Sept-21 12:44:12

My taxi arrives in about an hour so I had better get packing! I am back on Monday so hopefully the lights, the sofa bed and the coffee table, everything will be in situ and I can show you the final product. ???

What's the floor made of?
Is it actually a floor-covering - such as lino?

Shinamae Thu 09-Sept-21 14:34:43

Yes its vinyl spaghetti(not!!)….??

Unbelievable, electrician came to do the electrics in El Sheddo, opened the boxes which were sealed with the light shades in and both of them were broken, badly broken! £70 for the light shades and £6 delivery charge I am not happy! ? from homebase and had to wait three days for them to be delivered!

Callistemon Thu 09-Sept-21 23:28:41

They don't look very well wrapped up - did they just have tissue paper round them? Even so, the box should have protected them and they must have been very carelessly handled.

Shinamae Thu 09-Sept-21 23:32:21

The two of them came in a bigger box there was bubblewrap on the bottom then the two boxes then bubble wrap on the top but that was about it ,it doesn’t look normal to me….

What did the shop say when say when you phoned? When are they going to replace them?

JaneJudge Fri 10-Sept-21 08:51:57

what a pain sad you could've hurt yourself opening them too (or the electrician could)

Shinamae Fri 10-Sept-21 09:48:36

I am actually in St Albans for a few days staying with my daughter. My daughter-in-law open them for the electrician and she found them broke, we ordered them and have them delivered from homebase but we have a homebase near us and she will return them today and see what happens but a big disappointment

MayBee70 Fri 10-Sept-21 10:07:31

The delivery people just throw the packages around. There’s a Facebook page I’m on where people buy retro furniture etc and quite often the things they buy arrive broken. I suppose accidents can just happen. I bought some cooking ingredients off the internet from a company that wrap everything really well using paper and cardboard. I keep all of the wrapping etc in case I sell anything on eBay. But the one thing they didn’t wrap was some curry powder in a plastic bag. It split in the corner and the powder went all over everything: thankfully not badly as it was right at the bottom of the box. It must cost companies a fortune replacing goods that have been damaged in transit.

She could have cut herself really badly opening them. Do you know Old Bricket Wood in StAlbans? My friend used to live there (not in the nudist colony…blush)

We had repeated broken parcels from Dunelm.
It wasn't the delivery, it was the useless packaging.
