For me it’s my soup maker and a sellotape dispenser! Couldn’t do without either of them!

Love my Lakeland soup maker, and the little silver things with fuse wire that thread sewing needles (no idea what they are called).

Masha from Lakeland - perfect mash (not just potato) every time. Also beats egg whites etc.
Kuhn Rikon can opener. Debonds the can from the lid, doesn't touch the food at all, so totally hygienic and no sharp edges. Perfect if you use empty tins for crafts and the lid can be used as bird scarers if you grow your own. Got mine from Amzon.

Vax carpet cleaner. Bought over 20 years ago and have used it on a regular basis. Wine spills, dog sick!, etc, etc.
Also, have leant it out to family and friends. All have raved about how good it is.
Wouldn’t be without it.

My fave gadget is my TV circular swivel stand as TV does not turn and depending on which sofa I sit always need to turn TV as too much sunlight (which I love but not while watching TV) great little gadget!

My very favorite I use every day is a tool to make opening jars and bottles easier. I’d be lost without it.

Glasses with tiny light beams at the front of the frame so MrJ can read in bed without disturbing me sleeping.

My Kenwood chef. It was a wedding present 41 years ago, over the years it has made countless cakes and puddings. A Christmas cake every year and numerous Birthday cakes. Its still going strong, although the white plastic casing is looking a bit discoloured and some how I managed to bend the K beater out of shape slightly?

Bodum nutcracker. Looks like a thumbscrew. No nut is impossible to get into.

A washing machine, all those years ago. First a twin tub, eventually a front-loading automatic. The space, the hours saved! No ”gadget” has ever come close since.

Fernbergien Sat 16-Oct-21 12:45:51

My best gadget is one of those beer can openers. Probably got free! I use it to lightly prise off the lid of “stuck” jars. Only do it a little then the lid comes off normally. Better than any bought gadget. Make sure you used curvy end so not to pierce..
Also like slow cooker.

Like others with arthritic hands, I have many container opening gadgets. But I have never been able to find one that helps me open those (usually) bleach containers where you have to squeeze opposite sides of the cap together whilst turning the whole cap at the same time. I find these IMPOSSIBLE.
Does anyone have a solution?

Rather boring but I think it's amazing - my Vileda spray mop! It's the best thing ever smile

TillyWhiz Sat 16-Oct-21 12:51:15

One Christmas my present from DH was an onion hoe! He wasn't allowed to forget it but, as he knew, it turned out to be the most useful gadget ever in our large garden and he actually made me a second when I misplaced the original!

My heat pad that actually gets hot. It's just died after 30+ years. I've just bought a new one but it doesn't get anywhere hot enough. Anyone know of one that REALLY GETS HOT?
